I do not yet own Rivian, but will be getting an R2 just as soon as I can get my paws on one this fall. In the meantime, I have downloaded the Rivian app to manage my reservation. The trip planner is something I would enjoy playing around with in the app to see how a projected road trip might be...
I did my first test drive in an R2 today in Salt Lake City. It was sunny and 101 at the time of my drive and there was noticeable and uncomfortable heat coming through the glass roof. Not a deal breaker, but this is definitely something that will have to be addressed with an after market solution.
This seems like such a great feature! I would love to know what the experience is like from the perspective of other cars on the road, like does it work well enough and quickly enough not to be annoying or a danger to other drivers?
I do not have an R1, I placed my reservation in March 2025, I live just a few miles from a service center, and I was given a window today of October – November. I will be going with the performance launch edition.
Thanks for that. It sure doesn’t look like there’s anything back there for safely securing a kennel. Not a deal breaker but certainly disappointing for a vehicle marketed for outdoorsy people with dogs.
