EV road tripping I don't drive as fast, it just means you have to spend more time sitting around and charging. I'd rather go 55-60 and enjoy the drive, getting much better efficiency.
It is pretty disappointing to see a car with a headline range of 330 mi fall so far short of that, but highway...
I'm a little disappointed that you only get 15 seconds between "turtle mode" activating and a loss of propulsion. That can't be intentional, maybe it's because the car is brand new and only has a few cycles on the battery.
If that's actually working as designed, Rivian needs to update that...
I'm not worried about the charging speeds, more about the weight and price of copper needed to carry the higher currents. Rivian has been selling 400V vehicles for years so I know they work fine.
I normally L1 charge my Ioniq 5, fine for how much I drive it. I've done some DC charging but I've only done a "10-80" once, took about 19 minutes.
I'm still not sure why Rivian couldn't just make the pack 192x4 instead of 96x8, just a different bus bar configuration, and they could use half as...
As long as the vehicle and radio support A2DP it should work, someone who's test-driven one would need to confirm I guess. I'll try to get one booked soon.
Personally I don't listen to broadcast radio, so it makes no difference to me. I would be happy to pay to have it included for others though.
I take my Jeep into the backcountry, camping and off-roading far outside cell coverage. It doesn't have a standard radio, just a Bluetooth receiver...
Did Rivian confirm that it doesn't have a tuner? I see the "powered by iHeartRadio" but there are a ton of stations in my area that are owned by IHeartMedia and maybe that's what it refers to?
Mine is a Limited AWD, and I can't say I've ever driver 300mi at once, it's an estimate, but based on consumption typically 3.4-3.9mi/kWh it should be 290-330mi. Most of the time it's between 60-80% SoC.
Recently I was on a longer trip and hit Ionna at 15%, it charged to 80% in 19 minutes. I...
I leased an Ioniq 5 while I wait for my reservation to come up. It's a nice car, lots of quirks from an EV standpoint but very nice to drive. It has NACS, plug and charge works with Superchargers and Ionna. I get about 300 mi range mixed, charges at up to 250kW. I'm not sure how leases are...
