  1. R2 Highway Efficiency Test: 80 MPH vs 70 MPH Changed Everything

Good to know and hope it proves out in tests. My current Model Y RWD is rated at 357 miles, so it is a good reminder the comparison needs to be with the AWD version which is more comparable.
  2. R2 Highway Efficiency Test: 80 MPH vs 70 MPH Changed Everything

While I came away impressed with my R2 test drive...this is my biggest concern. I regularly do between 70-80 on the highway and the Model Y's shape is optimized for faster cruising. My usage of FSD is steadily increasing, and also concerned about the timeline on enhancements to Autonomy + on the...
  3. R2 Launch Mode demo by Wassym -- 0-60 in 3.45s. Coming to R2 in next OTA update

Is the top speed the same for both tire options on the Launch Edition?
  4. R2 Launch Mode demo by Wassym -- 0-60 in 3.45s. Coming to R2 in next OTA update

It was great to see this posted on X. 11.33 in the quarter mile is very impressive and the first time I’ve seen actual performance specs beyond 0-60.
  5. Will Gen3 hardware be included with R2 Launch Edition later?

My theory is I that I have timed things perfectly; access to the Launch Edition, but late in the year. It will be a better version than anyone foolish enough to order early. ;)

So you couldn't come up with any examples? Hence, my comparison. For the foreseeble future Tesla may rate FSD as supervised (that we agree on), but it is already 97% on the way to unsupervised capabilities. Mo Are you saying there is a better system available in the US than Tesla FSD? I just...

Yes, I believe Rivian R1T sales are comparable to the Cybertruck, so not a sales success like the Model Y, but the most advanced in the line up with 4 wheel steering, air suspension, 48V electrical system, steer by wire, stainless steel body, gorilla glass windows, vault, vehicle to load...
  8. Parking the R2 in the garage

I assume the R2 will also shift into park if you remove the seatbelt or open the door? At least that's how mine works...parking in the garage has never been easier. IMHO once you get accustomed to one pedal driving, you will never want to go back. Should take a few days max. I rarely touch the...

The Cybertruck continues to sell well. If I want a base version it is sold out until 2027. The Cybertruck is the best pickup available today by many metrics and competitive on payload, bed length, towing, power, storage, charging, efficiency, etc.

I meant the i3…due to it’s complete market failure. Proprietary wheel size, limited range, motorycycle engine option for extended range, and horrible depreciation.

It may have been fun to point out the weaknesses in BMW, but it still doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Within the last few years BMW has had (3) significant flops, the i3, 18, and iX, completely bailing on their customers and going to something NEW. The Nueve version finally has competitive...
  12. R2 w/ LiDAR, 19-inch wheels spied

I wouldn't have even brought up the competition, but it seems like other brands are compared, including Volvo, Scout, and BMW. Seems like the strongest competitor should be included in any respective comparisons. Not sure what you have against other American owned and manufactured brands.
  13. R2 w/ LiDAR, 19-inch wheels spied

Can you provide a few examples of companies that manufacture products that guarantee 100% liability and include insurance?
  14. R2 w/ LiDAR, 19-inch wheels spied

As others have stated, the pace of improvement is so fast that any testing older than 90 days is already outdated. I've been getting updates almost every two weeks since I bought my Y in September. Tesla just started testing "streaks" a few weeks ago, but I suspect by the end of Summer this...

I don't think it is realistic for any car company to take on all liability for consumers, it's as realistic as someone selling a chainsaw or a gun. Wouldn't be in business long.

Did you update to v14 lite? This update is designed to drastically enhance the experience for those with HW3.

Out of Spec appears to be respected by most on these forums. He likes (and owns) both Rivian and Tesla. According to Kyle, FSD is better than any other option (not even close) and the Model Y should be the default car for most people. Call it L2 or whatever, but my car routed me from Maryland...

Hopefully BMW fixes the crooked displays, strange steering wheel, and ugliness in the next generation. BMW also has a long way to go with technology before it can be competitive. Not sure they will survive into the next decade. VW is another German brand eliminating 100,000 jobs and bailing on...
  19. New Tesla Model Y L launching this weekend [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO ELON TALK]

Valid arguments about price, positioning, capabilities, and even thoughts about how it looks would be welcome. However, as much as I am tempted by the Rivian R2, the quality of the conversations on this forum give me pause. There are some people that lean towards luxury or passenger capacity...
  20. New Tesla Model Y L launching this weekend [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO ELON TALK]

Then you are in the wrong forum...Rivian doesn't have CarPlay. I would Google, "forum for cars without a good OS"
