Spot on about the wheelbase. Making the SUV on the longer truck platform would probably solve the legroom issue, but it would also make it a nightmare to park in standard garages. It’s always a trade-off between cabin space and daily maneuverability.
Even though you're in NYC and this happened a while ago, this might help anyone else dealing with insurance adjusters trying to dodge a payout. I live out in Colorado, and when a drunk driver hit my neighbor here, the local cops similarly dropped the ball on the breathalyzer.
What saved him...
This makes total sense. If you are in a dedicated off-road mode, DOT regulations shouldn't matter since the vehicle knows it isn't on a public road. Having that extra side illumination for tight trail junctions or campsite setups would be a huge safety upgrade. Hopefully the software team...
Nice work getting him out! Pulling something that heavy can be tricky if it's dug in deep, but these trucks have more than enough torque to handle it easily. Glad there was no damage to your rig. It's a great feeling when you get to use that capability to help someone out.
Found your thread while looking for some DriveCam help and those photos of the cans on the road caught my eye. It reminded me of a mess I went through in Colorado when I got pulled over in Breckenridge after dinner. The officer claimed I failed the roadside balance test even though I was fine...
That trip meter calculation looks way off if your actual projected range isn't dropping. If you lose 5 kWh on screen but the battery percentage stays steady, it sounds like a tracking bug in the software rather than actual vampire drain. The trip meter might just be miscalculating background...
Car and Driver must have been desperate for content that day. Using Camp Mode on a steep hill just to force a "squat" is hilarious but ridiculous. The truck is just trying to do its job and keep the cabin flat. It's a funny workaround, but calling it a deliberate hack is a stretch.
That sounds annoying, especially since the truck recognizes you. If it knows who you are but won't move, it feels like a glitch linking the profile to the motor execution. Have you tried deleting your profile and setting it up again? Sometimes resetting the phone link forces a proper sync.
