In the early 90ās, I was at an institution of higher learning that asked that we establish an email account somewhere so they could communicate with us. Maybe the .edu systems did not exist then. They also suggested that we not use our names in the address. That sounded like a good idea. I guess...
Thanks Tate16t for the detail.
I navigated from north Jersey to Dulles airport area earlier this week running Waze and the new Google Maps in parallel. I still trust Waze more than anything Rivian has put out. I do like the more bold interface. I also like that it zooms out an upcoming turn...
Thank You for the reply. Man is that annoying. And there was one time today when I was using the Rivian nav cuz I thought āIt couldnāt screw up a half hour trip to REI, could it?ā Well there are a lot of express ways around our nationās capital and the nav told me to take an exit off of one 4...
I havenāt used the nav system much as it just doesnāt seem to have the functionality of Waze. I made a road trip from North Jersey to Near Dulles Airport. I noticed that the nav system in the Rivian displays how far away the upcoming turn is (e.g. 0.4 miles) in a box in the upper left of the nav...
Good advice. I usually install the winter tires about mid October. I hope I remember to make the change. I bought an XL tire cover off of Amazon and some one suggested putting kids heavy duty snow saucers on the top and bottom of the stack to keep the critters out. Got those from Amazon as well.
I live in the northwest NJ hills. We run about 10F cooler vs closer to NYC in the lowlands. And we can get a good bit of snow. Both my wife and I are physicians, so getting us both to work through the snow always fell on my shoulders. We always had dedicated winter tires and rims for our...
Did my internship at Beth Israel ā90-ā91. Lived in their housing at 16th and First. Car horns, fire trucks and ambulances constantly competing with the car alarms coming from Stuyvesant Town. Heard what I thought were gun shots occasionally.. Sound systems so loud that the windows would...
I have had brief shuddering (< 5 seconds) in my Gen 1 R1S when rapidly accelerating in conserve mode. The torque overwhelms the tire traction in the front tires. Scared me good the first time it happened. More likely to happen with damp or dirty tarmac.
I see your
I see your point. As a road cyclist, I was always taught that if you ride through glass, reach down and lightly hold your gloved hand on the spinning tire to clean off the glass. The thought is that glass on the surface of the tire will make it's way through the carcass...
I would do the same thing and leave it in and try to make it to the destination. If you begin to loose pressure, pull it, plug it. Hopefully it did not make it through the carcass.
Still thinkingā¦.If you remove it and note no air leak, get some soapy water/windex and spray the hole. I like to use a tire crayon or paint pen to circle the area before removal so you do not lose the spot. Been there, done that. If you spray it and no bubbles, pump the tire up to ~60-70 psi to...
I have plugged these types of punctures with great success. If you want added security you can take it to a shop and have them remove the plug and have them patch it. But for me, plugging is enough.
I believe some people are working on Molten Salt/Thorium reactors. The water reactors are supposedly cheaper to build and the industry (e.g. GE) wanted to go cheap so that is what was sold throughout the world. What they did not plan adequately for was the disposal of the spent fuel. Thorium...
I have only had my R1S for abut 2 months. I keep finding things that they could do better. And I keep finding things that it does that amaze me. Like tracking the vehicle in front of me to match its speed while in cruise control.
1. I have to agree with the customizable screens.
2. Every...
Yes, absolutely it could be. If you were to do that, you would loose some range of motion. The arm of the mount would begin to make contact with the back of the screen. And you cannot mount it any higher behind the screen because the screen makes contact with the trim.
But, if you cheat a...
