Overall, this is a great kit, that makes installing a sub significantly easier than having to custom build an enclosure and source the cables. Instructional videos were very helpful, especially pointing out clip locations (those two under the seat belt anchors are a pain).
I did a few things...
Lots of great suggestions I’ll be saving for my new build in a year or two.
One more to add: plumb a ring for hot water supply with a timed pump. This way you have instant hot water at every location in the house instead of running water for ages to get it hot. Insulate the hot water pipes...
It’s the tire rack wall mount, I have 3 of them so far. It will fit 4 Rivian tires, but I’m using one tire as the spare. If you are mounting it high definitely recommend a hoist — these things are heavy.
I was caught in a sudden hailstorm in Denver a couple of months back. Small hail, but still made a mess of the thin aluminum hood. Going in for PDR soon. None of the vehicles around it were dented, Be careful with these fragile rugged vehicles.
Build a good relationship with your service advisor. Luckily I have a car enthusiast as my SA, we talk about the different car projects that we are working on. Being respectful, courteous and understand that the SAs want Rivian to succeed as much as we do. When things go wrong they are are...
No regrets, just made the switch to AS+3 with aero covers: should get the range of the 21s (possibly more as less mass), the better looking stronger 20” forged wheels, and half the price for new tires. Getting calibrated to the 33” diameter on Monday. Also have a second set that will be running...
I used A2 Customs, for both PPF and tinting. This is the second car they have done for me, and they do a good job. They have worked on quite a few Rivians (the roof requires a special extra wide roll).
Thanks, my better half is clearly the good looking one. No dent on the roof: the panels are both stronger and have better support being shorter, and in the case of the roof curved. No other cars were damaged, the Rivian hood is very flat and very soft -- you can see the center panel flexing...
I'm close to 19k miles on the R1T since taking delivery last September, and have just completed the longest trip so far. With a little help from my Rivian guide I managed to get a cracked windshield replaced just before leaving. I also had 70% ceramic tint installed on the roof and new...
No, I’m 1,700 miles into a road trip, hot 3 EA charges between Illinois and Colorado — all had issues with the 350 chargers: broken connector, throttled ”for upgrades”, failed to initiate charge, or just never got above 40 kW.
