    I am thinking of getting DCE since they claim that it already covers the part it used to be covered. Do you feel like this wasn't the case? You already said it's mostly for aesthetic purposes, but curious if there is any other reason.

    Glad that you asked. I checked the temperature of all the points - plugs, cable, charger brick, receptacle. No place the temperature was more than 110F. Ambient temperature was about 80F.

    No. The charger is in my garage and I charge at night.

    Unless there is a long drive, I always charge to 70%. I usually don't charge every day, charge when the SoC drops below 40%. So, pretty much always it has to charge 4 hours+.

    Rivian as sole vehicle?

    Moved from Hyundai Palisades to R1S 6 months and it’s the primary ride for everything, including long drives. My wife has a car for commute but that’s purely for commute, we don’t even use that for short grocery run. R1S also offers more space.

    Exact same sound coming from my 6 mo old R1S. It wasn't there when I got it. In my case this only happens when on standard ride height, not on conserve or sports mode where default height is lowest. Talked to the support.     Max pack was supposed to be 180kwh when they declared first. You can't just compare the battery size with range since larger battery also means more weight to move.

    I didn't know washer fluid can be bought as concentrate! I already finished two gallons of fluid after the factory one in less than two months and thinking I've to buy several gallons next time I go to Home Depot.

    Rivian maps are the worst if there is any traffic

    I do the same thing and turn on audio for one of those based on which one I want to follow! It does occasionally shows which roads are busy but I am guessing they gets the data from some other R1 in the area. We just have to wait for more Rivians on the road to know which roads are busy.

    That make sense! One door is particularly harder to close compared to other three. Opened a ticket and added to the next service visit.

    This happened couple of times and the door was unlocked for the whole time. Partly it was our fault but the doors are heavier and require more force to close. My previous car's app (Hyundai) used to send me a notification if I left the door open.
