With spooky-season almost upon us. I REALLY hope that Rivian has learned their lesson on the Halloween update for 2026. EVERY year they have been releasing this, for me, it has come so late in the month that I either only had it for a few days, or it came after November 1st. As I recommended...
Yea, I'll definitely have to supplement with Tesla (and RANs if the rate/time works out) but will have to strategize to get the benefits of using an IONNA stop. There's one in Vegas, but it is not right on the 15 freeway, I'll definitely plan my charging stops as it gets closer. There are a...
Good to hear your experience. I'll be doing the So Cal to Boulder drive around Thanksgiving time. I only have a Large Pack Gen 1 (320 ish range) and a bladder that can't last! I'll be driving by myself so I can't cannonball it and will have to stay a night (probably around Green River, UT)...
Ha!! I plan on leaving the Friday before Thanksgiving and coming back the day after Thanksgiving. Actually traveling to Boulder area. This way I can avoid the worst of the holiday traffic. I'll have to flex my departures if it's actively snowing in the Rockies as I-70 can close or require...
Even though it doesn't say it, I REALLY hope that this isn't tied to a C+ subscription. Waze is the primary reason I keep my phone mounted on the dash. This looks like it will come close to meeting my needs.
Will be perfect timing if I can get it before I head out to Colorado from So Cal at...
I still prefer old IBM disk packs! One of my first jobs in the mid-80 still had them in use. And of course we could never touch them and only skilled technicians were allowed to load them into the drive bays, they were used as storage for AN/UYK-7 computers on submarines. Prehistoric by...
I went to two focus groups for this vehicle. Looks the same as what I saw. Pretty surprised at the relatively low range. The coach doors looked pretty complicated and potentially difficult to exit if parked close to another vehicle...
Fun fact, Apple has only allowed product placement if they are being used by the “good guys“. This was very obvious in the show 24, where the people at CTU used Macs while the bad guys used Dell Computers!
Yep ... still waiting for all the Driver+ promises for my Gen 1 R1S to come true. At least it wasn't an extra "option" that I had to pay extra for but was called out in multiple Rivian videos/web pages, but disappointing nonetheless.
Seems like it would be a good idea for Rivian (and others) that support plug-and-charge to give customers an option to disable this feature in the vehicle for these instances. Better yet, would be preferred if they could support Tesla / EA / others membership plans and pricing.
