It just doesn't match up with the potential reason that Launch Editions are still being built, it was hypothesized it was due to the Launch Green color, but I'm seeing every flavor of a Launch Edition which then begs to ask, why have they ended up back at LEs again. Especially since it also...
I got a chance to drive both a R1S and a R1T, both times coming from driving a X7. I was really disappointed with the R1S, it was both way louder in the cabin and the suspension didn't seem to be very stable.
The R1T was much much better....it probably helps that the rear wheels are separated...
For one, they could be like Tesla's first gen Model S drive units, of which, nearly if not all of them had to be replaced. Some were replaced multiple times before a design change was available to provide a long-term fix.
The other thing to consider is the effect on the suspension geometry.....I...
We just did our test drive as well, having had a pathfinder - q7 - gls - x7....
Interior bits were fine, I only didn't really like the steering wheel size, wish it was a bit meatier. Otherwise I was disappointed by the ride quality and the noise. The x7 has insulated glass and is a very quiet...
That makes sense ....it just seems so behind the ball to develop an in-house 400v motor when even Hyundai leaned in with 800v on their Ioniq/EV6/GV60 architecture.
Definitely makes me more likely to stop waiting for the max pack and just jump into a large pack sooner.
I don't understand how they keep saying 300kw+ charging soon then, this is on the 'Charging' portion of the Rivian website. That would be close to 800A....I suppose they could do what GM does but still disappointing since it seems like 800v+ is the future
My uneducated guess is the max pack will move to a 800v+ architecture which means new motors are needed. A higher voltage architecture will allow for more efficient motors, cabling and charging up to or exceeding the 350kw that is currently deployed and seems like it would be needed for the even...
I just got access as well to the shop but don't have a guide and have never been contacted for a test drive. I emailed c/s but is there a better way to contact them to set one up?
Yes, our Q7 didn't include one, our GLS450 did include it....honestly, I barely ever use it and never actually bought it for the Audi. The MB has a nifty storage spot for it just next to the spare tire so I keep it there in case we decide we want to use it.
Tbh, this feels a lot like the BMW star Michelin tires which basically were exactly the same but with an added star and an extra $50 per tire in Cost. My bet is that the tire model number indicates the compound, there is only one electric off roader, who else would that tire be made for at this...
I don't think motors coming off the line tie that closely to full production release. There is still a ton of testing and validation that needs to happen on these drive units. There's a reason that every original Model S drive unit was basically replaced fairly early due to failure. It is...
