Nice review BUT can you tell me what is significant in that update on my Quad Gen1?
Besides the map on driver display I see nothing substantial.
What is preventing the kick turn (was advertised back then) to work on Quad Gen1?
No wonder they keep calling me to upgrade to Gen2 (and spend a...
Update:
30 days wait for service
10 days in service; got out today and the control arms were replaced under warranty.
Overall great communication with Rivian Service!
I did make appointment (in 4 weeks) and sent them pictures as they requested. I think I can just grease it for now to keep water out. It is a pain mostly because of the failed inspection.
Irrespective of whether it is warranty or not it is strange that no-one is able to get such a part. All...
There is NO short answer!
First of all they set my appointment for 30 days from now as a place holder(2 hours from me)
Second they want pictures so they know what to order and what happened. And they will not even tell me if it is covered under warranty.
Third they do not "allow' other local...
46k miles my '22 R1T and inspection failed due to torn rubber boot on front control arms; Inspection garage can't get parts (from Rivian) or even work on these.
Is this a warranty item? My service center is 2 hours away and it always ends up being weeks to fix.
I can find OEM control arms on...
'22 R1T has a Suspension Service error and it is stuck in Very High. Tried multiple resets and I can't switch to On-Road Drive mode so stuck driving 20mph.
I called service/support and they will schedule to tow the truck in a few weeks. However they told me that the error could be...
Yes I was shocked as I paid 75k for my quad Gen1 R1T in 2022 and could not get equivalent Gen2 with the same features for under 100k
Similar situation happened when I bought by Tesla X for 75k in 2017 and the price kept going well over 100k in 2021. Now they are new at 85k (they just...
My drain is 2-3kwh/day based on the kwh meter I see every morning...nothing different than seen on Vampire Threads. I think you can minimize depending on weather and pinging the car less often.
Vampire drain is part of the Tesla and Rivian Ecosystems ... Computers on wheels which need to keep working and monitoring things unnecessarily. Not the case for Ford, GM and Hyundai/Kia that you can leave at airport for 2 weeks and not worry.
I guess I am stirring things up?
I have RIVN and TSLA shares and am concerned about RIVN not making it due to the high price of their current R1T. I have seen model X go from 75k to 120k back down to 79k now over 7 years. Rivian obviously can't afford to do that for now.
NO I have not...there are many threads on Vampire Drain and it seems to be an accepted fact. Tesla has these also (1 percent a day or so) . Other cars that I have or had like Ioniq5 and Chevy Bolts do not have that.
Funny you mention that...I have put 100 miles on my Tesla X in a year due to me liking the Rivian so much.
However Tesla has made a major push this quarter with huge incentives/referrals. So I upgraded my old X with FSD (2k) and got new cameras and now I am REALY impressed by FSD!
Now I can...
Happy original R1T at original pricing looking into new Gen R1T with sticker shock feelings:
IF I want to get the features I have on my Quad and all the driving modes I need to spend 90k+?
No more yellow? No Fed credit.
Is Vampire Drain fixed in 2nd generation Rivians? It is a major reason...
