  1. RivianTrackr: "Stop Buying EVs for the Trip You Take Twice a Year"

There are several factors that can affect range - speed, temperature, wind. If I want to go on a road trip in winter when it is 20F out, windy, and drive at 80 mph, what range am I realistically getting on an R2? 180 miles since I won't drive to 0% SOC? That's only 2 hours 15 minutes of driving.
  2. R2 Range Limitations and Rivian's Response

Yes, I am guessing your cars have degraded at least 20% from new. Up until the latest generation of Tesla models, Teslas have historically under delivered on EPA rated range similar to the R2. What happens to the R2 range when it is 20 F outside and windy?
  3. R2 Range Limitations and Rivian's Response

I have a Gen 2 2025 R1S Dual Perf Max and a 2022 Tesla Model S Long Range. They both have the same EPA rated range of 400 miles. My Rivian can travel significantly farther than my Model S on the same trip. About 15% more range. Some of that may be age/degradation, which is a topic that these...
  4. Gen2 retrofit with Qi2 charging pad - does not work

Good to know. Doesn't seem worth the potential hassle.
  5. Noticeable lag in front/rear cameras in Gen 2, anyone else?

On the latest software, I have noticed occasional camera lag on my Gen 2 as well. Mine is not as bad as OP though.
  6. Will Gen3 hardware be included with R2 Launch Edition later?

Rivian put themselves in this situation by not launching with Lidar. A similar situation happened with OG R1 reservation holders when Gen 2 came out. Rivian allowed reservation holders to buy Gen 2 with OG pricing. Of course a lot of Rivian Gen 1 owners were butthurt.
  7. Cancelling my Pre-order, thoughts inside from test drive

I stopped reading this after a few points. Not reasonable at all.
  8. 2026 R1S: Charge failure at Tesla chargers

Did you try starting the charge from the Tesla app before plugging in? Sometimes plug and charge doesn't work.
  9. What’s Coming in 2026.15 Update, Including Rivian Assistant

My Gen 2 suspension behavior changed in the last update. It takes a long time to full settle from Kneel by making a lot of noticeable adjustments. I hope this is fixed in the latest update.
  10. Can you guess the forum member this one belongs to?

Wait until R2 comes out and SCs are even more slammed. I owned a Model X when the Model 3 came out and Tesla Service nose dived hard (no appointments, sloppy work, damaged car). I am expecting something similar with Rivian assuming the R2 sells well. Book your service appointments now.
  11. Can you guess the forum member this one belongs to?

Saw this as well. My guess is this person is a non-Rivian enthusiast (enthusiasts are more forgiving). I can see a "regular" owner getting pushed to the edge with Rivian. Especially if they are coming from legacy brands.
  12. Gen1 vrs Gen2 door handle feel.

Yes, we notice the rattling when closing and squeaking from the interior handle. This has been discussed a million times.
  13. SOLD 4 22” Super Sport wheels with tires.

Any noticeable stability/handling differences when going from the staggered super sport wheels to the narrower square sport wheels?
  14. 2026.03 Update will revamp Kneel Mode

Wow. Lots of improvements. I assume the lower height will be equivalent to Lowest. Love the ability to toggle it. Hope it can be automatic Kneel in Sport mode.
  15. CHP Throwing Shade on Rivians (well, EVs at a minimum)

Who's running out of charge in the middle of an intersection? The only excuse would be an LFP owner with an out of balance pack.
  16. Strange calibration issue on gen2 Max Pack - service has not seen this before

I have 12k miles on my Gen 2 Max pack and have charged to 100% around 8-10 times. My 80% SOC is reading 326 miles which seems about right.
  17. I bricked my R1S in the Oregon Outback - Learn from my mistake!

Wow. You received a lot of kindness on this trip that I would not expect. I recommend watching at least a few Youtube videos on how to road trip an EV and the tools needed. If you are going rural, it requires extra planning and preparation.
  18. 22" Inch Nokian One HT vs. Hankook iON HT

275/65 is not the OEM tire spec. Did you mean 275/50?
