  1. Tire wear using Conserve Mode after ~ 6000 miles

I had to put new front tires on my truck at 10K miles, used conservative 90% of the time since almost all my driving was on road trips.
  2. Lucid now has Wireless Apple Car Play . . . will Rivian put this on their road map?

A non critical thing _for you_ Again, the fact that literally every single car made today has it is pretty telling that itā€™s an important feature, but hey you do you. Texting can and is critical for many of us, whether you choose to believe it or not. Hence all other cars have the feature.
  3. Rivian Elevation audio system - in house design change began February 2023?

Not gonna lie, while the Rivian audio system is much better than average vehicles, it didn't "wow" me. But that damn camp speaker wows me everytime I use it for music while working in the garage, that small speaker puts out very good quality sounding music for such a small device.
  4. Conserve Mode: $125 a month tire cost!

This is somewhat "normal", as I had the same outcome. Drove around in Conserve a lot as most of my miles have been road trip miles and ended up putting new tires on the front at around 11K miles. I've stopped using conserve at all now since it doesn't really give that much more range compared to...
  5. First Tesla Supercharger with "Magic Dock" CCS adapter successfully charged a R1T. This is fantastic!

I'd assume this is temporary for everyone, my understanding is that to get the federal money they have to support plug and charge. So that should mean that everyone (including EA and Tesla) will support this via CCS in order to gain access to the government funds...
  6. First Tesla Supercharger with "Magic Dock" CCS adapter successfully charged a R1T. This is fantastic!

Just like you want to put your fingers in your ears and say that EA is perfect and has 0 issues for you, therefor it *has* to be that way for everyone. Then when I point out 20+ posts from 20 different users from Reddit all from the past 14 days you just shit on Reddit and say it can't be true...
  7. Regen reduction needs sound notification

I guess this is a benefit of living in a flat area, I had no idea regen would disable itself mid drive. I've only ever had regen be limited when the battery is at a high SoC. TIL
  8. Let’s talk tunes -- How do you listen to music in your Rivian?

Tidal sounds the best to me, much better than Spotify. But the Tidal app doesn't work very well, it doesn't properly show my search history, doesn't properly show my play history, and I sometimes struggle getting it to play properly. I have to switch from Tidal to another source and then switch...
  9. First Tesla Supercharger with "Magic Dock" CCS adapter successfully charged a R1T. This is fantastic!

I'd depend on them more than EA though. I'll get to charge eventually, just might have to wait. But I can depend on it to work
  10. Vampire drain - what's the latest battery % loss people are getting?

I went on a 5 day trip and left the Rivian in the garage with average temps probably around 55-60F. Lost on average about 1.5-2% battery/day. Left at 74% and came back to it at 65%. I checked daily with the Rivian app to see what the percentage was at so that likely woke it up and drained it...
  11. Tesla to open 20% of US Superchargers to all EVs by end of 2024, qualifying company for share of billions in federal dollars

I'd hate for the charger on my Rivian to be in the back. I constantly drop the tailgate to let the dogs out and to use as a place to hangout and eat and get in and out of the bed of the truck while charging. If they put the charger on the rear of the truck then I wouldn't be able to do that...
  12. CarPlay discussion with Rivian CS: company is working with Apple and it's a priority

Which tells me they have no plans to open up their development with an SDK to allow developers to at the very least build their own apps for it if they choose to do so. Rivian will be a massive bottleneck and it won't scale. So they'll be spending time reinventing the wheel with calendar and...
  13. CarPlay discussion with Rivian CS: company is working with Apple and it's a priority

Don't worry, I'm sure texting and calendar integration is coming s00n. Hey it only took Tesla 7.5 years from Apple Music's launch for Tesla to implement it, so we have many more years of waiting and being told that "the integrated platform is the better path" all while we all debate the best...
  14. CarPlay discussion with Rivian CS: company is working with Apple and it's a priority

Yeah I'm not seeing it happening personally, I'll believe it when I see it. This comes up about every 3 months or so but then nothing comes of it
  15. R1T vs Model Y, a ridiculous comparison review

I've had our 2023 Model Y for a couple weeks now and took it on a road trip and it has ~1,500 miles on it now. R1T has ~13,000 miles on it so i'm pretty well versed in it. Here's my feelings on it regarding the 2023 Model Y vs the R1T: Squeaks and rattles have been pretty bad, both from get-go...
  16. Article: Will Rivian Get a Pass for Putting 100 HP Behind a Paywall?

Tesla also does something similar with the acceleration boost with the Model Y for 2K.
  17. Keys not communicating properly with vehicle

If the carabiner and card key isn't working then there's definitely an issue, I'd be reaching out to Rivian and trying to get someone to look at it as soon as they have an opening
  18. R1S Kicks A$$ in Drag & Roll Races vs Urus and Shelby F-150 Super Snake (Throttle House)

I noticed when he launched the R1S he didnā€™t do a brake stand like Rivian advises, Iā€™m not sure if that makes a difference as Iā€™ve always launched my truck by holding both pedals down and letting go of the brake. Iā€™d be curious to know if that makes a difference in launch times
