The car that is my avatar has No A/C, wing vent windows and ashtrays in the rear seat armrests... The hot vinyl porno red interior isn't exactly dog friendly in the summer... but it is still fun to drive.
At 5'-11", I put a shade in 14 months ago for an extended trip that went from Mammoth to Vegas in the summer heat .. and pretty much forgot about it and never took it off. When we had the Lucid loaner a few months back, I didn't even notice the heat from the glass roof.
Pretty much, I...
My neighbor is biased... back in 2021-2022 when testing in death valley, he had to cut out a piece of cardboard to protect his head from the heat coming through the glass roof.
Because I don't know or care to look up... do the Rav4s and Subarus have the rear glass over the hatch area. In my opinion, the direct sun beating down makes you feel a lot hotter than the actual cabin temp.
I asked my RIvian Engineer guy neighbor this question.... since he has done extensive testing in hot weather with the R2. Without getting technical... he said the HVAC system is more efficient, since the R2 has a small cabin and it uses the same system as the bigger sibling (R1S)... but yes...
I like when people say... Rivian is supposed to be a "Progressive" company, when the ultimate goal is to make RJ and the investors money. My life isn't that important, and if someone needs to find me based on my GPS data, then I'm either in some kind of emergency or I've done something that I...
That is not a LE... That is a Gen 2 quad with 1025hp... you can tell by the VIN, brake color, storm blue and dash color. That is way better in my opinion.
Neighbors 12/22 had batteries that were dated 9/22. He had no issues or replacements up until he did it last week. His take home Rivian test vehicle is also a 22 and still on the original batteries. 3 years is probably end of life for these batteries and probably why we are seeing what seems...
At least in the R1S, the single tpms module is located on the drivers side in the center of the "C" pillar. I have an extra, but not sure what help that would be. It wasn't the issue in my case.
Small sized spare does not have a TPMS sensor. When mine was fixed, he was in contact with the Rivian TPMS sensor team on his slack network (that is what he called it)... who gave him a procedure to get the sensors to be recognized. No explanation of why it needed to be fixed that way, but it...
I had something similar where my 23 R1S wasn't accepting/ updating to the new different tpms sensors after a wheel change. Got the same message. Neighbor (Rivian test engineer) whom has access to a Rivian service computer was able to input my tpms sensor serial numbers manually, which fixed my...
Totally understandable if you are used to changing batteries yourself. Unfortunately this is the norm with a lot of higher end cars, not just Rivian. If your vehicle uses a BLS sensors to monitor the battery, then it will require calibration of some sort when they are changed.
This is like the same arguments we heard 3+ years ago before the launch of the R1. Turned out to be a nothing burger for most people. Rivian didn't change it back then and won't change it this time... so a decision has to be made whether you can live with it. I drive both ICE and EV on a...
Well... all my other cars never had a frunk... and every manual lift gate I've ever had has come down on my head in cold weather.. so their is that... I have a brand new explorer as my take home work vehicle and not having an automatic lift gate for the hatch is a major pita when I have my...
I'm lazy... did any of the vehicles on display have the screen for the rear seats on the back of the center console? The te,st vehicle I got to ride in yesterday did not. It also did not have 12v power at the back of the console like the R1. Only USB-C connectors I saw were on the back of...
