Did you go through the initialization steps in Settings after installing? I had a similar issue until I read the instructions in the user manual.

You don't specifically say it in your post, so for clarification, did you press the "Start Charging" button in the Tesla app after selecting the station, and before plugging in? If not, then it defaults to Rivian control.

For what it's worth, I tested sending a planned route from Google Maps, and this is still working. Of course you'll have to start over with your planning.

I swapped the original 20" Pirellis for Michelin Defenders last month (Gen 1 quad R1S) at 42,000 miles. So far I am not experiencing the noise you describe.
