  1. '23 R1S with 59,954 Miles - Let the Sleepless Nights Begin

You're likely aware of this, but just to make sure, you can get a prorated refund on most of these warranties, so if you only end up keeping your R1S for a year or two, but bought the five year warranty, you'll likely get a good chunk of your warranty purchase price back.
  2. Finished R2 demo test drive? Share your review / impressions

Agreed -- those are actually my favorite wheel design of all the ones offered.
  3. Custom R1T running support vehicle "Recharge Truck" by Rivian & Nike ACG

I'd be happy to be the 2nd owner of this once Nike/ACG is through with it... One somewhat surprising thing...they had a fleet of ACG-wrapped Rivian's at the Broken Arrow race last month, and I noticed that one they'd wrapped started life as Forest Green. Makes me wonder how these got allocated...
  4. Do I Risk Damaging the Lift Gate Motor?

I've been bemoaning the lack of a height adjustable hatch since I got my R1S ~3 years ago...and been adding it to as many "feature request" threads, sites, etc. as possible, but nothing has come of it...apparently it isn't as much of a problem for a lot of people.
  5. I checked my email ___ times today

Kind of disappointed with this estimate. Current R1S owner, reserved at 10:02am PT. Saved config is an R2 Premium in Esker Silver with Black Mountain interior. Live ~90min away from a service center.
  6. New Rival: 2026 Jeep Recon EV revealed. $65,000, 250 miles range, 0-60 3.6s

Wow...barely better efficiency than the G-Class EV, and particularly bad highway efficiency.
  7. Telo EV Pickup Truck first look: 5 seats, 5 foot bed, 350 miles range, 0-60 in 4 seconds, size of Mini Cooper ?

Interesting update from them that the Telo will be able to do both 400V and 800V charging
  8. Military Purchase Program

Tesla didn't start offering that program until the middle of 2024 (with an exclusion for the Cybertruck), arguably after demand start to wane in 2023. Rivian is still in its early growth stage. Maybe they could offer some sort of discount program on the R1 line, but unlikely to hit the R2...
  9. R2 First Drive Reviews - Articles & Videos 📰 🎬

Didn't see that anyone posted this one yet...first "comparison" video between the R2, 4Runner, and Model Y:
  10. R2 Demo Drive Scheduling is LIVE! Anyone book test drive yet?

Logged into my profile on the Rivian website, then booked a Demo Drive under the "Things to do" section (below "Your journey").
  11. R2 Demo Drive Scheduling is LIVE! Anyone book test drive yet?

My local centers are only offering dates for today and tomorrow. Booked for tomorrow at Noon.
  12. R2 Favorite Features - What's Yours?

Then you'll love this one...I've got one of the earliest 1st Gen Sequoias built (MY2001 manufactured in 2000), and that drop glass is working fine too.
  13. R2 Favorite Features - What's Yours?

Given the only reason I'm planning to go with the Premium trim over the Standard is the drop glass, that's obviously my favorite feature. My dream spec...a Standard AWD in Borealis with the drop glass and tow package for ~$54k. I think they've over-priced the Standard AWD trim by $1-2k when...
  14. R2 Across America: 2,000 miles through six states

The most interesting part to me is this photo -- assuming this is Esker Silver. There are so few "real world" photos of Esker Silver...as far as I know, they haven't had an Esker Silver at any of the block parties...
  15. Rocklin, CA New service center?!?

According to this YouTube video, the Rocklin center is now in its soft opening phase (the RAN on-site is now shown in the Rivian app too). Apparently the official grand opening/ribbon cutting will be on June 13.
  16. EPA Range Finalized / Published (R2 Performance)

I was just on the fueleconomy.gov website and noticed that the EPA ratings were officially published for the Performance trim of the R2 including the MPGe city vs. highway ratings. I included the Model Y Performance rating for context. It would seem like Rivian's motors are more efficient than...
  17. R2 Configurator is Live! 🎉 What's your configuration?

Good news -- at least per the configuration site, the standard interior does come with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel: Click on the "Learn more" under the Black Crater interior color, scroll all the way to the bottom, and you'll see it. I'd prefer the standard version too...
  18. R2 vs midsize SUV- need by June

When I was a teenager, I commuted to work in an '06 Grand Cherokee, which by all objective measures (JD Power, Consumer Reports, anyone with a pulse) was a 💩box of reliability (got to love the DaimlerChrysler days...although, it isn't like FCA or Stellantis have proven to be any better). The...
  19. R2 vs midsize SUV- need by June

JD Power's dependability rankings takes into account way more than what most people would consider "reliability". It's any "problem" a consumer has with any number of elements of the vehicle (including poor ergonomics, infotainment glitches -- not failures, etc.). Even having to replace a key...
  20. R2 vs midsize SUV- need by June

Quality or reliability? Quality...agreed, but I don't think teenagers really care about panel gaps, minor squeaks/rattles, etc. (and they shouldn't if they're getting a "free" car anyway). From a reliability standpoint, I actually haven't known someone in real life who has had any significant...
