When we built our home 5 years ago, I had a 50amp breaker with NEMA 14-50 receptacle installed in our garage thinking weād likely have an EV or plug-in hybrid in the future. When I got my R1S I decided to start by using the Rivian Portable Charger and leave it plugged in to the NEMA 14-50...
Thanks, Silva, for your helpful story. Thanks to what you and others have shared, I know a couple things I can do to prepare properly and Iām now confident about driving my R1S to the airport and parking it for an extended time.
Electrify America/APS has 4 DCFCās in the Yavapai College parking lot. Iāve not used them ācuz I charge at home, but believe theyāre 150KW. I believe thatās it for public charging; there are some level 2 chargers at a couple hotels in town and quite possibly elsewhere, too.
Thanks for the linkā¦..that experience sounds like no fun at all. In the past few minutes I just learned that the covered parking garage we normally use has 120V outlets, so my current plan is to bring my Portable Charger and keep it plugged in while weāre gone.
Iām with you on that, Tim, and used to do it all the time when we lived in Mpls maybe 10 miles from MSP.. Weāre about 110 miles from the Phoenix airport unfortunately. Or, fortunately since weāre in Prescott AZ at 5700 ft where itās 20F cooler than in Phoenix ?
This is partly about charging and partly about battery health, so I appreciate everyoneās patience with a long post that mixes a couple topics. I picked up my R1S from the Phoenix Service Center on June 26 and absolutely love it. (I know Iām delinquent on getting posts done re: the vehicle...
I chuckled and chuckled for a good minute or more when I read your vehicle experience list. From a 1969 Plymouth GTX Hemi convert (fond memories of vehicle lust in my HS years) through to a Kubota backhoe. That is an awesome range of vehicles, man! As an R1S pre-order holder expecting mine in...
Congrats Caleb! Blueberry looks great. Weāre located in Prescott and have an R1S coming in Jul-Sep of this year. Iāve seen a few R1Ts around but no R1Sās yet, so glad to see theyāre making their way into northern Arizona. XPEL question - what parts of Blueberry did you get the PPF on?
>3 mo. earlier here⦠R1S LAS, BM, UB shield, 20ā AT. Pre-ordered 03/21. Estimated delivery was ā2024ā, now Jul-Sep 2023. 65 miles north of Phoenix Service Center. Donāt know that it made any difference, but FWIW I had support make a note in early January on my pre-order that I was willing to...
No, I selected a Large Pack. The nearest service center is in Phoenix 64 miles away. Thatās not āin townā but also not that far in Rivianās estimation I wouldnāt think. I plan to contact them Monday to see if thereās any way I can improve my delivery window.
Back in June 2022, my delivery window was communicated to be first half 2023. Today, it is listed as ā2024ā. Happy for those who got good news, but this is a delay well beyond what I expected.
