with an R1S May '21 preorder I just got my charger in the mail and paid my insurance! my 4-year-old son (also a car nut since he could talk, probably before) is about to lose his mind... should take delivery very soon!
as someone who owned a Wrangler in the past (and will hopefully take R1S delivery soon, with Aug-Sept '23 window) I love the idea of a wave. fumbling for switches sounds to me like too much of a distraction so I'm down for just a simple acknowledgement.
this has been on my mind as well... hope to hear more from folks who've already done it. I'm a stickler for good sound and wasn't all that jazzed (pun intended) by what I heard in my first-mile drive.
glad everyone's safe and I'm also thankful for useful advice from commenters (eg: diminished value) I was unaware of. I'm curious, OP: did you even know you'd been rear-ended? in your description I was getting the sense you didn't immediately know you were hit, which would be...
I hope this wasn't a CS agent speaking out of turn! FWIW: on my first-mile drive, I peppered my ride-along with all sorts of questions (tire size, perceived handling), including the CarPlay one. she shot down CP pretty emphatically, but I'm also aware engineers—like icebergs—can be moved given...
this is exactly my concern. regen breaking is great for the vehicle but I'd imagine it being frustrating for drivers riding behind. I'm always aware of how close drivers are behind and in front but it puts them at a distinct disadvantage.
with a May 2021 preorder date (Limestone/Forest Edge) I feel like a kid in a candy store. his name will be Captain Saru (from Star Trek: Discovery). my son, who's also a car nut, is gonna lose his d*mn mind lol
is Elon too dumb to remember Tesla hemorrhaged cash in the beginning? or maybe it's convenient amnesia. either way:
2015: Tesla burns cash, loses more than $4k per car
2018: Tesla posts record loss of $710M
2019: Tesla posts $702M loss in Q1
took 8 years for Tesla to turn a profit and bruh is...
this is my main gripe exactly. I give props and leeway for a startup electric-car company trying to ramp production during supply-chain hell but the lack of communication is deeply frustrating. here's what I wonder: if other interior colors might have the same problem down the line. I have...
I care deeply about the success of Rivian (I'm a reservation-holder and stock-owner). I also read stuff quickly (sometimes too fast obvs) to try and get the gist in a timely manner. we're all in this together... forging new paths. I can understand your frustration just ease off the...
curious: did they happen to explain why that specific interior was delayed? I get the supply chain is a mess but it seems oddly specific to an interior choice... and now I'm wondering about other, specific interiors that could be delayed (mine is Forest Edge, which I hear is bangin).
