Great story and I feel your pain. I've driven my R1T across country about a half a dozen times so for. The first year I owned it(23) it was a hellacious(sp?) challenge! I literally coasted into more than one charge station with 1 mile of range and even zero once. Thankfully the range is...
It's funny, my comments were typed with a tongue in cheek mindset and many responders got upset by it. . Some make valid points and as I mentioned in my OP, I still think my R1T is awesome. I don't expect my truck to have everything the G2 has and never said that. My truck before the Rivian...
So sorry you were forced to read my comments My expectations are unreasonable to ask for the things the truck was advertised as having? I'll bet when Rivian raised the price on the Adventure, you were one of the ones that just silently took it, rather than cancelling the order, weren't you? I...
Planned obsolescence after 3 years? What's that work out to a year on a $100k car?
Launch mode? oh yay, that super helpful said nobody, ever.
None of those rationalizations even touch anything I mentioned
Perhaps Google AI is meaningful to someone that drives a car for it's ability to compute...
I'm actually more excited about the R3, when and if.... Love the look. I did reserve the R2, however. The jury is still out on FSD. I don't know if I will ever be fully comfortable and the Gen one driving assist hasn't instilled a lot of confidence.
Likewise. But for me, $79k out the door is still a big chunk of change. I do OK but i still have to finance my cars. It is the most expensive car I've bought to date.
I didn't scan the comments to see if this has been discussed yet but do any other Gen 1 owners feel like we are being cast aside like last year's iPhone?
They fixed the issues we had in Gen 2 but how about those of us that own Gen 1 trucks and are still faithfully making payments? No tank turn...
My 3 years were up as of this month anyway so I was already anticipating losing the HOV access, Then we decided to buy another EV and learned that the program was ending. It's a shame but I enjoyed it while it lasted!
I've been pretty fortunate in that I have only has to have my R1t in for service once so far. I was provided with the Chevy Silverado EV. I have to say I was very impressed with the truck and really enjoyed driving it. The 400+ mile range is awesome and I wish Rivian would bump their numbers...
Amen to that! I've only needed service once in the past 3 years, thankfully, but it took 2 months to get my truck in when I finally did. It's my one gripe about Rivian. Well, that an the 1st Gen charging pad being useless...:)
It's a great idea to get true entry level EVs on the market. One of the many complaints I hear from the anti-EV crowd is that they are far too expensive and have too many "gadgets". This should solve that concern for many potential buyers. My first new vehicle ever was a bare bones Chevy...
Thanks.
It turns out mine wasn't showing I was parked at home and wouldn't charge at the pre-set time. I had to delete the home location on the GPS and re-set it several times. Works fine now. I moved my truck to the other side of the garage (6'), don't know if that caused the false reading...
I've had my R1T since 12/22 and it's been in the shop once for a minor suspension issue. That's pretty good for a totally new vehicle, from a new builder. The important thing is that it gets me to my destination and doesn't leave me stranded,
I have to say that I was a bit surprised and...
