  1. Rivian News: R2, Production, Preorders, 2024, Amazon, NACS, Self Driving (from Global Auto Industry Conference 2023)

Subaru got caught sleeping on the EV front. I'm guessing a lot of Rivian buyers are coming from Subaru, myself included. Still have a 2013 Outback. Went to my Subie/Nissan dealer today for a 75 cent screw that I needed and instantly had 3 salespeople drooling over my R1S. If Rivian gets a...
  2. Latest VIN check R1S. What is the real production rate...

Might be worth asking why it sat around so long. On the plus side, you'll likely have the additional outlets and Meridian speakers.
  3. No tax credit for Rivian (effective April 18, 2023)

I believe BPA will only work if you take delivery sometime this year. Have to at least have a VIN number. Then you would have to file an amended return for 2022 to claim the credit and put the date of your BPA as a purchase date.
  4. Rivian posts updated IRS guidance for BPA + Instructions to claim EV Tax Credit

If you are taking delivery fairly soon it probably doesn't matter. Any day now though the new guidance is expected on the battery sourcing requirements, and anything beyond that will only be eligible for half of the $7500 credit.
  5. Redburn Conference - RJ Interview: increased range coming early next year. R2 vehicles are “goosebump inducing"

Or end up like the R1's or Cybertruck; products that are announced 5 years before you can actually get one.
  6. Let Us Sign Buyers Agreements: A Letter to RJ

Just so I'm understanding the new bill correctly. IF I don't get my R1S until late next year, and IF it came in under $80k, and IF I can make it under the $150/$300 ind/family limits, then it should still be eligible next year, correct? Battery and component restrictions that would dequalify...
  7. Tax Credit Changes in new bill [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS & ARGUING]

It's not like there is a shortage of early adapters. The point is to move the needle on rate of adoption, which will require a lot of vehicles way less than 80k per.
  8. EV9 Details Revealed, 2023 release

I don’t know why there aren’t more ev mini vans. Super versatile, and platform is perfectly adapted already to slap a bunch of battery on the bottom. Tried the Pacifica hybrid. Over 40k, and felt like a cheap rental car. And low ev-only range.
  9. Rivian charger vs 3rd party charger?

Installed a clipper creek when I installed my solar panels last year, so I’m hopefully good to go.
  10. Show rooms?

Not that I have to worry about for likely at least a year, (currently says 1st half 2023), but what would be the best place to see a few R1S’s i. Different colors? Are they doing the car show circuits? Any stores planned anywhere in the Midwest? Glacier white ordered, but way to much to spend on...
  11. New CarPlay Support Email?

I will 100% cancel when my number comes up if it isn’t clearly spelled out what exactly you will lose without a “membership”. I absolutely hate buying something expensive and never actually owning it. People seem to be resigned to the fact that everything is like that now, but why does it have...
