Very much doubt that they will cut the truck price as they are losing money on each vehicle as it is. So why chase volume? A price cut will also affect the R1S indirectly, as purchasers may defer purchase waiting for a like price reduction on the SUV.
Well, I did say "project" but you're making my point.
Tesla took years to develop their current manufacturing process at a high cost in money and resources (including the CEO sleeping at the plant). But, if you're happy with the end result, I'm happy for you.
I guess that depends on how you define range that "is a lot better." Certainly, an EV towing a vehicle that has the range to travel a full day without need to recharge would be a step-change ... but we're not there yet.
To my way of thinking, 75 miles of increased range is largely...
You sound like a consultant ... or someone that has worked with consultants. However, it is a very effective way at looking at problems as in the trinity of quality/cost/time (as used in the business world) you can't deliver a significant project that delivers quality, costs little to implement...
Well ... you may not think so, but Rivian does. At purchase, my guide explicitly warned me about wear damage to the front tires using Conserve Mode WHEN not driving on highways.
You do realize that "cashflow positive" is just a long-winded way of saying 'Revenue' right?
Now, if Rivian wants to make the case as to how they will make the RAN network profitable (along with when and by how much), I'm sure we all would love to see it in writing.
If "in house charging...
No need for name-calling. Simply state your viewpoint.
Are you sure that Amazon is even using Rivian's fast-chargers? This leaked photo doesn't make that at all obvious ....
Correct. And while servicing low-density and seasonal locations serves a purpose, it doesn't target profitability. Rivian needs to target things that will lead them to profitability.
I love Costco ... but I wouldn't risk damage from parked cars and carts to save a few bucks on pizza, not to mention the time to get in and out of the lot. YMMV.
Are you sure the shaking isn't caused because you might be over the highway lines? You *might* have that option on for Rivian to give you steering wheel feedback (i.e., vibration) to a line violation.
The only reason I ask this is ... one would think that if the steering/alignment is off at...
My Glacier White Rivian R1S after getting a front wrap and ceramic tinting.
Of the comments I've received so far, the single biggest positive feedback is around people digging the black 22s. Candidly, in my view, Rivian offers a lot of awesome choices in vehicle colors.
Having driven my sister's Lightning last fall, I was amazed at how well Ford did with this vehicle out of the gate. I wondered whether the Lightning would have been a rushed-to-market poorly considered attempt and it's not.
I joke around with my friends saying that the Rivian is merely an expensive golf cart. After all, both vehicles rely on, mostly one-pedal operation.
I also love high-regen and adapted to it in a day. When driving alone, I enjoy waiting until the last moment to come hard off the pedal to...
Well ... if you are going to introduce facts ... ;-)
It's interesting to me that the people in my neck of the woods know more about Rivian's stock situation than they do the vehicles themselves. However, that will change once they actually get to experience the vehicles and hear testimonies...
