Afaik they switched in February '23. Mine (manufactured Feb '23) has the cast. There's pictures on the forum somewhere of the differences. Should be pretty easy to visually confirm if you crawl underneath your vehicle.

Imo mine still looks great after 3.5 years (and I have cats jumping on it routinely). All except for the spot where my wife tried to slide a potted plant across the hood is the only noticeable scratch. Oops! 🤦🤣

Here you go. Rivian with a tailpipe. I found this complete "straight pipe" exhaust in the street by my house. Pulled over and tossed it in the back. I bet dude is still driving around with no idea his *entire exhaust* fell off. 🤣

Hey, if it sells more vehicles, I'm all for it. I'm the kind of dork who wore a green shirt and green jacket when I went to pick up my green R1T (with a green interior) a few years ago: Next time, hoping for purple. 🤣

I agree with the other comments about disabling proximity unlock at home. I did this almost immediately; don't need my vehicle waking up or unlocking 50 times a day when I walk out to the garage to feed the cats we have living there. 😹 Congrats on the new vehicle!

I've felt for a while that they're not as far along on this as they claim to be. And they're hoping that getting all these new vehicles on the road will somehow give "exponential growth" towards reaching their goal. At the same time, considering how many safety factors are involved in this...

Thanks for sharing the pictures and info. Just 02 cents, that looks really cheap. Guess most manufacturers figure people will rarely use it, so another way to cut costs. I get it, but man. I wouldn't rely on anything in that kit in an emergency. 🤷

Not necessarily R2-related, but my kingdom for someone who can make a sturdy, safe pet carrier for vehicles. I backed this thing on Kickstarter but the creator appears to have "ghosted" - taken the money and ran. Which is a shame. One of these would look awesome in the back seat of a Rivian. 😉

Love it! As someone else said, not for me personally but looks like a great little vehicle, at a reasonable starting price for all the "EV's are too expensive" trolls. Anything to get more EV's into the hands of consumers is a win in my book. 👍💯
