    yes, used nichrome wire. Laminated a pattern between two pieces of clear adhesive backed mylar. without some heat and vacuum I had air gaps around the wire.     Disable tailgate opening like you can with power tonneau cover in vehicle settings. So when you have hitch mounted bikes or the like you cant accidently drop the tailgate into whatever you have mounted and prevent damage...
