The lower load rating might make it a pain to have a shop install though. Discount/americas tire by me won't. I had a shop refuse on my model S - new tires had a lower rating than the factory 19" tires, but higher than the factory 21" tires. They wanted equal or higher than either - which was...
Snow mode seems to do a good job of reducing regen at least. That's my biggest annoyance with the model 3/y being unable to adjust regen (S3XY buttons allow regen adjustments but I haven't tried in snow yet). Going down a hill regen hits on the rear (since front is induction and off until...
Would love to see how they do on the R1. Also really curious on the R5 SUV vs the LT3s.
After 2 seasons with the X-ice there was a noticeable drop-off in grip - but I could care less replacing them every 2-3 seasons when they do so damn well. My wife refuses to drive the R1T in Tahoe because...
I ran the 275/65/20 LT3s (non-studded) last season in Tahoe. Noticeably better than the stock Pirelli ATs but I'm still meh on them. I'm still sliding getting out (down) my driveway at 1mph whereas the X-ices on the two teslas have no issues and no sliding.
When I hit an ice patch in the road...
I ran the LT3s on my R1T last season in Tahoe and wasn't impressed (but still much better than stock). I ran the X-ice on my model 3 and Y and those had so much more grip downhill. Definitely looking for something a bit better given the heft of the Rivian - maybe the x-ice with the lower load...
I like this, but I just don't like drilling into the truck :( I wish there were some rails to attach to.
And holding 4 full-size MTBs bikes would be ideal for me. Looks great though.
I just picked up the Thule Gatemate Pro (Small). First time truck owner so certainly first time doing this :)
Test fitted my favorite eMTB - Trek Rail (Large) and wifes XS Levo SL. Fits with good room to spare and feels snug. I am worried with the pressure the fork puts on the tailgate, I don't...
Y is for sure less smooth than the 3, but 3 is far off from a Camry as well. For me a harsher ride is a good trade off for better body control - I know you don't have to make that trade-off, but then you're usually in much more expensive suspension territory. I don't mind it at all though. If...
Meanwhile in California (bay area)... starting to see these with real frequency. There's another one on my street as of last week. I've seen 2 in the work parking lot this week. Saw another 2 driving to pickup food tonight! So happy they're getting these out in good numbers. But I no longer...
I really enjoy switching between mine (3P, YP, and maybe once a month I take my Cayman out). I'm more relaxed in the Rivian, because you just don't have the same center of gravity to get away with the (terrible) things you can do in a fast car. And it's just too fun to drive like an idiot..
I...
I ordered mine last week via gear shop and got them in ~3 days to the bay. I didn't get a shipment/tracking notification, they just showed up. I don't think I'll be back in the bay by then to lend them out though (in Tahoe) :/
Maybe try calling Rivian support to see?
I tried sticking one of my eMTBs (I'm an addict) in the bed..and it looks like it might be doable...enough that I may just buy a tank pad to try. Only problem is downtubes are massive on eMTBs and I'm not sure which pad with straps will fit.
