I assume the CT is something you have to see in person to really judge. I'm looking forward to seeing one. From the photos, I think it's daring and cool. I'm just not daring or cool enough to own one.
I think the elements holding the CT's design back are the bumpers, wheels, and tires. I'm...
I'm curious about this too. I haven't locked in my configuration yet because I'd like to delay delivery until 2024, since that would provide eligibility for a higher tax credit in my state (Colorado).
It sounds like you asked a Rivian guide about this? What was the response there?
I got a similar email, although presumably because I'm already at the "confirm your configuration" stage (as of this week), mine says I can confirm by mid-September and still get the brights.
Anyone live nearby tracking progress on this? I'm on the other side of town, but I'd love to take delivery in the Springs rather than Denver. The delivery estimate for our R1S is currently Q4 2023, but I'd like to push that off to Q1 2024 for CO tax credit purposes.
I'm in that boat... Pre-price-hike reservation; R1S delivery expected Q4 2023. Just got my "please confirm your configuration email." But I would like to push off delivery until Q1 2024 for this reason and others. Anyone managed to do this with Rivian?
I am trying to determine what wheel/tire combo would be the most economical in the long run (i.e., over an ownership period of 3-5 years) for the R1S. Set aside capabilities, noise, looks, and other factors. Only concerned about costs for purposes of this question, so the factors are:
Initial...
Agree with other comments. This is very disappointing, but perhaps--hopefully--not reflective of what will actually hit the market.
I'd been thinking the EV9 would likely be our top choice between it, the EX90, and a pre-price-hike R1S for delivery in late '23 or early '24. If these stats and...
We're in the same boat as others here... Keeping our reservation for now, but the interior of the R1S will probably be too tight for our family of 6. It's more difficult because we're tall--I'm 6' 4". We recently went from an XC90 to a VW Atlas and the extra space makes a big difference. It...
This question isn't R1S specific, but do the dashboard climate vents remember the preferred position set by each driver? My wife and I will want the vents blowing different places, just like we'll have the seat in different positions. Is the positioning of the vents tied to the driver profile...
I think I made mistake #2. A few weeks ago we bought a CPO 2019 VW Atlas to replace our XC90. The second and third rows are SO spacious (it has captains chairs) and the whole interior is very well thought out for big American families (we have 4 kids). Based on the initial reviews I've seen, the...
I agree. We can't expect Tahoe- or Sequoia-like 3rd row legroom. I realize the girls in the iJustine videos said there was plenty of room, but that was puffery. Too much trickery in those videos: fisheye lens, 2nd mostly forward and upright, etc. In real life this is not going to be a 3rd row...
Is this a power operation, or manual? I.e., is some force required to return the 2nd row to its normal position, or could a child do it?
Thanks for the intel!
