Must be a local bug in your vehicle. I have switched every time I pulled off the highway to charge my R1S while using nav on two 3000 mile trips and on the current 2000 mile trip without ever losing any direction information.

Yes, I had the rear doors unlock as I walked up but the driver's door wouldn't unlock. Had to use the app and relock then unlock the doors, but it hasn't happened since.
