100% wrap the handles or cut out for just the surface. Beyond the look, for general protection I've had people fly out of the truck and smack the handles on the wall. No damage to date, but certainly glad the extra layer was there. Back to looks, matte everywhere aside from the handles would...
March 22 delivery. 3xxx serial, almost 44k miles thus far. Issues with trim that are minor, no mechanical issues. Best vehicle out there, based on my needs/wants...mostly wants ?
Holy smokes...I just put in a ticket and decided to search the forum to see if there was anything similar. Heard the "baseball card in the spokes" at low speed on the way home tonight. Then heard a series of bubble wrap pops as I pulled into the garage. Haven't drove it since (don't need to...
You can and likely should take it to a reputable alignment shop. The specs are public so any shop can do it, might have to bring pucks with you. Service centers seem to struggle mightily with alignments for some reason. I had the same issues, gave up on the SE and took it to a shop I'd always...
I have been running the same setup. They look so good, really happy with the feel as well. I have ~3100 or more miles on them now and just a heads up there's definitely a hit to them on range if that matters to you. Was originally on the standard 20" with scorpions getting about 2.15/kwh over...
You can definitely go elsewhere. Alignments are s skill, even though it's just nuts and bolts. Look up some reviews ahead or time and ask around if you're not familiar with your local shop. Once you've honed in a couple options make sure they know it's a Rivian ahead of time and confirm they...
Jack pucks, putting the truck in the proper mode, and having the specs for the alignment. It's all nuts and bolts for the most part. Rivian SC has told me that "independent shops are not perfect since non-SC shops can't zero it out to absolute zero because of a floating position they put it in...
For what it's worth, a good AT tire should not need winter tires. Most AT tires that you're going to mount on these trucks are M&S rated. 21's will have issues with that statement depending on tire.
The weight of the Rivian alone will combat most snow conditions, not a lot for ice. But...
Anyone have any luck with finding an alignment option outside of the Bellevue Service Center? They're super backed up right now and I'm not exactly thrilled with the job they did last fall anyway. Saw a few different regions referred to discount tire but I don't think they do alignments at...
Nice design. Out of curiosity, was there a limitation that prevented the kitchen to fold out aft vs forward? Looks like the door is blocked and barring some sort of software option I'd imagine my kids denting the hell out of the door with the kitchen folded out:)
If it folds aft toward the...
Anyone have any experience locally with an autobody shop in Puget Sound? Someone hit me the other day and it's certainly repairable, but it crossed my mind that there probably aren't many with experience working on them. Service center recommended Accurate Auto Body in Redmond. Anyone else...
@R1Tom got me in the right direction a few weeks back. Connection between the charging handle and truck port deteriorated over time. My issue resided entirely with the handle. If the connection fails, try pulling up on the handle slightly. The weight of the cable was just enough to disengage...
I think I do both, but mostly wait for the click when I plug it in. I think it's the weight on the cable that causes the disconnect at the handle over time. But I'll be more cognizant of hot plugging going forward. Thanks.
Just to close out the topic. Solution from Rivian was to replace the whole charger. Everything has worked seamless since replacement. I do envision the weight on the handle deteriorating over time again, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. First one lasted just shy of a year.
I've had a similar experience about a dozen times in heavy snow conditions. Lighting is causing more issues than its solving. Was simply dangerous to be honest. I resorted to pulling the fuses after the third butt puckering experience myself. Since then the last half dozen times in heavy...
Update: Cables and connections all checked out good. Issue appears to reside at the connection point (handle) between truck port and charger. Seems like there is some sag now which is impacting how the handle mates with the charging port. If I pull the handle up slightly, I can re-engage the...
