  1. The Dreaded Axle Clunk is Back for Gen 1 AND Early Gen 2! But my R1S Now is Better Than New from Factory

My 2025 R1S built in August 2024 has not had any noticable half shaft issues, but I never drive with the windows down... ? I just scheduled my headlight and turn signal recalls and I noticed these items on the estimate: - FSAM-1679 Replace front NVH/ting washer - FSAM-1507 Tighten hub to...
  2. Adhesive front license plate

The standard 12x6 from licenseplatewrap worked great for me. The numbers are pretty much exact hight of the bumper. Just align top edge the the seam between the bumper and the grill, and trim at the seam below the bumper with a razor blade. Only tricky bit is the left to right curvature of the...
  3. Looking for front license plate non screwed-in options for 2025 gen2

Still looking for an option that is not attached to the grill. I'd prefer to drill the bumper over that. No tow hooks on Gen2 2025 standard, so looking for a tow eye option. This super flexible on plate positioning, but I can't find one I'm confident will fit the thread pitch or depth...
  4. “Post-Retooling” R1 Timing

Charge port door redesigned? There was an RJ interview in Bloomberg 3 days ago. In some B roll they showed an R1T with a charge port door they hinged forward like a car door instead of presenting and then rotating. Probably a wise change if it is real.
  5. Air Compressor is optional now?

Is the air compressor optional now? I saw this note in the R1S owners’ manual. See screenshot below: “Air Compressor (if equipped)”
  6. New Battery Pack Design (not Standard Pack) & Architecture Coming in 2024 confirms Rivian CFO

As a potential tick in the pro-heat-pump column -- during the Q3 2023 earnings call, RJ made a mention of HVAC "simplification" in context of the pending Q2 2024 shutdown. :fingers-crossed: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4648834-rivian-automotive-inc-rivn-q3-2023-earnings-call-transcript And...
  7. Creaking Sound When Initially Accelerating

As I await my R1S configuration invite I'm keenly interested in this, so thanks for the updates. I'm hoping the dual motor architecture will have a redesign that is not susceptible to this problem. This is the possible deal breaker which has me eagerly awaiting the Volvo EX90 launch.
  8. Ask us Rivian R1S owners ANYTHING [AMA]!

Can you drive with the liftgate closed and the tailgate down?
