It's great for a compact umbrella, nice to have one always in the car as I have quite literally never left the house with one unless it's raining hard at the exact moment I've leaving the house.
I agree completely, really should be easier and the communication is where it's really lacking. My experience is much less serious in terms of the issues, but it should not be hard to get things taken care of. I have had my R1T for 4 months and love it. I discovered a handful of minor issues...
I agree, really depends on how you use it. We have a 2019 Hyundai Kona and in nearly 5 years and 68,000 miles we have replaced only tires and wiper blades. (Still on the original brake pads even) We charge at home (with solar) and run around town with it, only one time have I taken it on a...
Well after much soul searching (and math) I decided to move to the R1T. For me (and might not be for others, I understand) the lease offer for the truck is much more attractive.
So I went ahead and put an order in for the R1T, and canceled my late (post price increase) R1S pre-order.
But as...
Good point here, and some others earlier in the thread as well.
My point is that leases only have a few inputs. In my rough example, both cars start at the same MSRP $94,000, have the same $7500 cap cost reduction, same $6k down payment. The capitalized cost in both cases would be $80,500...
Wow this is a *much* more expensive lease than what's been offered on the R1T. Not a precise apples to apples, but pretty close:
Compare these two units, both with $94,000 MSRP, both have Performance DM, 20inch wheels, large battery pack. Using 10k miles per year and $6,000 down (the R1S...
I just noticed that the monthly pricing is back to reflecting what it was before the increase.
It appears the standard quote is for $6000 down instead of $5000, to make it appear that the monthly payment is the same. Hmmm.... seems a little sneaky but oh well.
Wow interesting, this morning 1/9 all the R1T lease prices appear to have increased by $25-30 per month.
I am considering leasing the R1T if it seems like it might be a long wait to lease the R1S, and the one I'd been looking at (PDM, El Cap, BM, 21) went from estimated $794 to $822 overnight...

Wondering if there has been any conjecture on when Rivian might offer leases on the R1S? This might have been discussed in other threads but didn't find anything recent.
I'm a 6/22 reservation holder and have had access to the shop since maybe late Oct/early Nov. I've been holding off, for...
This is a positive change overall for sure. However I'm looking at mid to late 2024 for my dual motor R1S, at least it appears that way from current run rate. My big dilemma will be whether to take a CCS model or wait for NACS (another year-plus perhaps). Not because I'm worried about the...
