  1. Is the ‘low speed tock’ still a thing?

Definitely the hope! I've driven a Vin 3k, Vin 6k, Vin 18k and they all had/have significant noises. But Rivian totally removed the connection for the powered bed cover out of the driver's rear sub-harness within weeks so hopefully they can also improve QC on this asap.
  2. Is the ‘low speed tock’ still a thing?

Interesting because the subframes do in fact have pretty poor weld quality. I'd be interested in knowing if the subframe could be safely re-welded on-vehicle locally. I'm sure Rivian would be against that even if it is safe but what's the point in replacing the subframe with another one of...
  3. Is the ‘low speed tock’ still a thing?

Here's a close up of the noise I'm getting. Truck was jacked and my son's were rolling the wheel.
  4. Is the ‘low speed tock’ still a thing?

We picked up my 2nd reservation 3 weeks ago, it's Vin 18,xxx. It developed the tocking before I got home 4hrs later. Interestingly my 1st truck did not have this noise, it was much more of a heavy tha-dunk/CA-chunk sound than this new clucking/tocking. The newer truck sounds like the wheel of...
  5. Conserve Mode should only be selected while the vehicle is stopped? (says Rivian Service Center technicians)

Ludicrous. If you needed to stop to operate the RADs it'd be in the software...and nobody would use because it'd be inconvenient. Rears decouple because fronts need to do your braking, regen would lock up the rear wheels. I've switched from conserve straight to sport while wot (RAM was...
  6. R1T Rollover Flipped!

Yes, it was a 3/4 roll. I have YouTube and post history that could relate to what I believe, and felt, "went wrong". But I still would trust Rivian's analysis over my own inclinations about it.
  7. R1T Rollover Flipped!

So let's straighten up a couple of things: 1. The truck did not "suddenly roll". I never said that. I said it "unexpectedly rolled". If I had an inkling of a reservation about it rolling I would not have driven into the field. 2. There is nothing in any pictures online that show the truck...
  8. EV Charger Risks: Home Charging Installation Risks and Advice - by Munro Live

I'd put money on almost all of these overheating problems being due to the terminals on the 14-50 plug not being torqued correctly. I usually torque them super tight beyond spec, twist and push the plug into its final location (hard to do with 6ga copper even in a dual gang box), pull it back...
  9. Powered 40 qt Frunk Cooler and 12 gal Water Tank w/ washdown sprayer concept (by @BoxGods)

Have you ever had your air conditioner fan on your car quit working and the air conditioning system immediately starts blowing ambient air? This is because the air flow across the condenser stopped and essentially the condenser became entrapped inside a closed system of hot air. The front...
  10. Steering lock

I made a video about cv shaft and driveline clunking problems and mentioned there the fact that I found the power steering pump to essentially be always running if the truck was unlocked (not sure about when locked). That was 2 updates back. A few days ago at the jobsite I randomly noticed...
  11. PSA: Possible Major Security Issue With Rivian Alarm System

I talked to a very helpful person with Rivian service for other issues and asked him about this alarming issue (pun intended). He said Rivian is working hard on a fix for the security issues and are hoping to have another security specific update out in the next few weeks. Definitely a...
  12. Not just a missing center cap after all. Yikes. (Lost bolt that holds the axel to the hub)

On most vehicles this axle nut actually holds the whole hub/bearing assembly together. I'm guessing that is not the case with Rivian because you'd have lost the whole wheel by driving on it any length of time.
  13. PSA: Possible Major Security Issue With Rivian Alarm System

My truck allowed me to open door then open hood, tailgate, gear tunnel. All without the alarm sounding but gear guard DID record my movements, lol. Phone was set to airplane, I wasn't home, key fob 100' away, truck allowed to sit locked up for a bit. This is definitely something that needs to...
  14. Rivian R1T CV axle failure missed by service center

So the cv axles are roller spline design, you can look them up on a Google image search. The cv joints are both fixed and the center of the axle is splined to allow for the axle length changes necessary during suspension articulation. Roller spline axles have been used by subaru, Chevrolet...
  15. Rivian R1T CV axle failure missed by service center

So the Google front page popped up this thread as a suggestion for me and I was surprised to see my YouTube video linked, haha! I am the creator of the original video on the front in clunking noises. To date my truck has been to Atlanta twice. The first time I drove it the 3.5hrs there, drove...
  16. Seatbelt Recall (Affects 198 Rivians) : NHTSA Campaign Number 22V641000

There's cross threaded bolts all over the truck. I've had the front underbody cover off and the front trunk liner out and there were multiple cross threaded bolts on both. Evidently there's some poorly trained people up at the factory.
