Love my truck, but just dropped it off for half shaft inspection because of noise and they think they can get it back to me in 2 weeks. I was able to decline the rental car because I can make other arrangements but the financial waste to Rivian is non trivial here.
Not to mention that it makes...
I'm in the loose strap camp as well. The pad looks great, but I must be missing something as the straps don't hold the bike in place.
Maybe a video would help.
That solution looks super interesting, thanks for posting the pictures.
I wonder if the gearboxes could be mounted on the bed cross bars on the R1T. Would be nice to be able to use them directly over the bed.
I had a Model X (2018) before my R1T and it was a really solid car. I used to joke that it was a bad minivan more than a SUV.

I worry less about failures than I do about terminal failures where there is no workaround.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but is there a width difference between the rockslider and the step? Looking at the renders (without scale) it looks like the rocksliders are a little bit wider.

I have seen video reviews from the European drive events that mention the footwell is oddly angled and gets in the way. Maybe the...
Honestly, I'd love to have slick running boards but if all that is available are rock sliders that would be ok. I have two kids under 7 who are constantly scrambling in and out of the back seats and they make it work but a step would be nice.
Thanks for sharing this and following through with Rivian.
My hope is that faults that can render the truck undrivable get fewer and fewer as the fleet grows and they work through some of these cases. These vehicles need to feel robust, not fragile.
