Not sure if it's the same problem, but a while back, I couldn't get the vehicle to switch to drive or reverse, it gave me some sort of brake malfunction alert. I remember unable to press down on the brake pedal, was very stiff. Was towed, fixed after several days at the SC.

I, too, took delivery within a month of you. And I remember growing to hate Tony Carvano the more and more he spoke. Not sure what became of him, but I'm sure glad I don't have to listen to him anymore. Still love the OG R1T quad, with all the 12v outlets, a still flawless tonneau cover...
And don't bother checking the gear guard cameras, in case you thought about using it to see it's surroundings/location. They usually have that disabled while servicing,
Odd that opening the door doesn't force it into park. What about lifting your weight off the seat? Some people, those that pull trailers and have to shift their weight to look behind them, often complain of the vehicle shifting to park when they lift their butt off the seats.
When I had my R1T in for service, I chose a Silverado EV as a rental. I found its range and interior seat comfort better than the Rivian. Everything else, I preferred the Rivian.
I brought mine in to the SC for a different issue, and upon courtesy inspection, they found both rear dampers leaking. 22 R1T, 51K miles, I do a little bit off roading (probably about 10 half day excursions), the rest of the time babying it.
