True, but ... not only does Staunton have a 350kw EA, but 10 miles away in Waynesboro is a brand new RAN station! We should all be so lucky :-) But you're right that Front Royal will be really helpful for a lot of folks, and I would bet will see more traffic than the other 4 they just opened...
They pulled them out and are re-installing :-( A few weeks ago where they had been installed was a big hole and all the equipment and been pulled and moved to the side. I had stopped by a while back and remember there was something off about the install but can't quite remember what - I think...
This is all FUD that you have been fed!
First, if a Rivian R1S can't park get into a Tesla stall, what's a F150 Lightning going to do? The reality is *most* existing non-Tesla EVs will struggle to get into a Tesla stall without taking an extra space. This has nothing to do with NACS. This is...
You didn't mention if you could get into the frunk - I'm assuming you couldn't because you tried to jump from the rear, but if it was working it would make sense that it was a secondary batter failure and jumping from the back wouldn't help. I gave away my old jump start battery when I got rid...
Mobile service will do it - assuming you have an appropriate space. They weren’t able to rotate mine due to it being parked in an alley with a funny slope.
This is actually what we have in DC. Limitation is zoning - there is no customer pickup or drop off, so they have to send the flatbed for each vehicle they want to work on which really limits things. Everyone is looking forward to a full SC soon ….
I did the same thing once, but was lucky enough to have a window open. I think it had recognized my wife’s phone as leaving proximity when she left in her car and it locked. I turned proximity lock for the phones off and use the fob now :-(
Mostly all valid - sounds like you don't need a pickup, you don't need an off-road vehicle, you don't need something that does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds, you don't need something with tons of storage and you don't need something that can tow like a beast. That makes the Rivian just a fun choice -...
Correct. Someone else had to point it out to me as well :-) I think the default is the highest quality that you have paid for - which is fine as long as Rivian is paying for data ….
I have resorted to turning the HVAC off and just using the seat heaters. I generally preheat though.
I still can’t figure out pet mode though. Mine always shows a large difference, eg “My pet is safe and comfy at 62 degrees set to 70” (literally this summer in a hot parking lot). My theory has...
Heading to Boone tomorrow (staying the night in Floyd) and am a little worried. I had hoped Blowing Rock would be online, but obviously it’s not anymore. Plugshare says the Blue Ridge Energy charger crapped out on the last driver, and I hadn’t realized that the EA charger in Wyethville has been...
Check that they actually are what EVGO lists them as - don’t trust the app. You can look directly on the cabinet. Also check out PlugShare and see what other people are getting and their notes. In DC virtually all their chargers are listed as faster than what the cabinet says and they deliver.
Anyone taken a trip up/down the Blue Ridge Parkway recently? I planning on taking the truck down from Front Royal on Skyline Drive down and use the new Blowing Rock RAN charger as my destination (mostly for the heck of it because I have some time off) Trying to identify how challenging charging...
You definitely want to drive in All Purpose and Soft and keep the ride height at "Standard" (the lower you go the more bouncing.)
At the end of the day I love the truck despite it - we just take my wife's Model 3 when we are together if we don't need the truck. And if we do need the truck (eg...
I have an R1T on 21” and the same complaints down to the spouse that dislikes riding in the truck due to the bouncing and nausea. I had a friend with 22” come over and we drove loops to compare and agreed the trucks were nearly identical.
I think the key is it does drive like a truck. The...
I just installed mine a couple of days ago - and it’s on the same 3.00 version. However it had been sitting in my basement for 3 months. So it apparently doesn’t look updates after a power cycle. This update is the first one announced and that address a flaw that’s caused a lot of really...
