Need some clarification on this as I try to configure my R1T. The manual tonneau puts me over $80000, so no IRA credit. I thought I could just buy the tonneau after purchase but then received this email:

Does it still qualify for and tax benefits? I thought with the new guidance that Rivian would not currently qualify. I hope they still do because that the IRS Edition is what I wanted either way! :)
I bet they allow us to purchase the "Performance Dual Motor" as a software update after purchase of the truck. Kind of like Tesla does with their acceleration boost.
I thought it was interesting when the survey came in. Made me think they weren't getting enough new orders after opening the configurator up to reservation holders and Rivian is trying to determine why. I responded that I am waiting for dual motor. Rivian just needs to send an email out asking...
That's one of the reasons I am holding out for the Dual Motor. I already wanted LA Silver and street wheels, so that comes in at $79,000....if Rivian holds that price. I know it is only one configuration that gets you under $80,000, but I bet Rivian will lose a good chunk of reservation holders...
Glad to hear they will begin inviting reservation holders to configure soon. They probably want to understand the demand between Quad and Dual motor now that more info is out on dual motor.
Did notice one yellow "A" for rear passenger head protection. Maybe there is an explanation/description somewhere that could better explain why it didn't receive the highest rating there.
