Anyone use a specific cover they like? Our aged garage cant accommodate the Rivian's size and the truck is just getting blasted by Colorado sun, birds, sap, etc so want to find something durable but easy to take on and off quickly. If anyone has any recs, I would greatly appreciate it.
EDIT...
I hit the panels for over an hour with a drill brush, burned through two batteries and ended up with this result. Still streaky and splotchy, especially in the lower/indented area but better than nothing. I definitely have never had to resort to this with any previous car.
Yep, the plastic. That's what it looks like after I washed it.
Hit it with the drill brush for about an hour after the OP. Definitely helped but still not great.
Gunbarrel is still a random place, friend. Lots of offices, lots of families but quiter and cheaper than Boulder at the end of the day.
Apologies if heavily worn territory but how do you clean the exterior bottom panels along the doors? I just scrubbed the hell out of an area to see if anything helps and it’s almost as if I never touched it.
Any advice???
haven’t had it on for any substantial miles yet, but the dimensions, not only for the fit with the other components but also for height tucking well under the roof line were a big part of the decision on the roam box. So I’m hoping that having it close to the rear window and under the roof line...
Oh wow, youre completely right, my bad. I read that wrong. I was under the impression they were in a fixed position and the distance did not line up with the crossbar width but I guess i'm wrong.
edit: I guess my DIY could still be useful to someone who doesnt want to spend the extra $200 in...
It's a great setup you posted, zero buzzkill!
I was a bit hamstrung as I wanted to use the existing crossbars, not have to buy a base rack or platform, and likewise use the other components I have (SkinnyWarrior, Kuat Trio that were already mounted). The Roam rugged mounts wouldn't attach...
In advance of building out an exploring platform for the warmer months, I was starting to piece together a kit for the crossbars. I had a leftover Yakima SkinnyWarrior that I attached alongside a Kuat Trio. Having the space, and wanting to add a semi-permanent tool/accessories box, I started...
About to do a write up for a Roam box install in which i used 3/8 carriage bolts. Had my shop shave down the dome and they work perfectly, and come in endless sizes.
I have a Roam 95L from a past life that I'd like to secure to my stock bars but trying to figure out a way to do it.
Right now also have a Yakima SkinnyWarrior on the bars so placing the Roam on one side would be great. Obviously dont want to mount it in the Yakima and waste the space, so i'm...
Any Denver sc pickup folks want to share how they’ve been about submitting title paperwork etc?
Wondering how long it’s going to be before being able to plate the truck in the end.
Relatively successful pickup day today. Denver SC was really great and got me in and out quick.
one big issue popped up immediately as I left the SC which was I got an error that all wheel drive was unavailable and to service soon. I ran an errand in turtle mode and tried a hard reset but no...
Your timing is about the same as mine - got my steps on 12/27 - and the vehicle spent 2+ of the 4 weeks since, “finishing up at the factory” per my guide. Delivery scheduling opened up yesterday for me. You’re probably very close
Nice! Congrats!
Hopefully your truck moves faster than mine. I’m almost a month out from finishing my steps and it still hasn’t reached Denver yet, but its possible progress got stunted by holidays etc.
Completed 7 steps around Xmas and inquired about factory pickup, hoping to get in under the New Year but was told the vehicle was in final prep for its journey to the SC.
Checked in today after 2 weeks and was told the vehicle was in final prep to begin its journey to the SC...
sigh
Thanks for the detailed write up! I’ve been curious how the Dec/Jan deliveries have been coming out as everyone seems a little trepidatious about panels, fitment, paint etc in the year end push so it’s good to hear some real world reports. Thanks again!
