We should start an "I have a Rivian spare and could help in an emergency" database.
I have a set of 4 winters on 20's and would be happy to loan one to anyone who gets a non-repairable flat near Boston.
I got a flat in my Model Y last year in Canada. What a nightmare. Same deal with pucks...
Thanks for the write-up!
I will be towing my (much smaller) Kubota tractor to Maine this weekend, and I've been curious about the range drop.
While point three is true, I would say that you should be comparing 60 miles radius to 122 miles radius; not to 300+ (which would be one-directional...
Lots more. Took a road trip up to Maine for the weekend.
So I would say that I have around a 50% reduction in noise post SC visit.
It is perhaps not quite as good as it was when I first got it back, but still reduced compared to a month ago.
This seems to be particularly true over undulating...
Yep. That sounds like it. I would hear it most over small bumps at lower speeds, and also on undulating bumps (like the tracks where vehicles repeatedly stop at intersections). I'll do more testing tomorrow to confirm its actually gone.

R1S Launch Edition Owner
I took delivery on 3/18/23 and one of the first things I did was a launch that I measured using Dragy which is a pretty well respected app for the purpose. ( usually off a timeslip by at...
Yeah. I agree. I thought they were going to come back with an "in spec" reply, but the tech knew during the drive that it was too noisy.
Funny thing was the loaner was loud like mine, and I thought....huh. Maybe it IS "in spec".
I'll drive it for a few days to see how it sounds, but so far...
Nope. Not with the Rivian occasional use EVSE. They could come out with a new plug (if they chose to do so) that would allow you to take advantage of (more of) the 20a.
I'm actually using my Tesla mobile charger with a 5-20 for this very reason. It's not much, but I get free 4m/h at work...
Just got mine back from the SC this morning after a 10 day stay.
I had complained about the noise in Jan, but was told it was within spec.
This time I took a drive with the tech, and he said it was not normal.
Just got the truck back and I've only driven 10 miles, but it's like a new...
Definitely not a lawyer, but my understanding is that numerous states don't allow audio recording without consent (but video in public is OK). Strange, admittedly.

So...coming from Model Y. Previously BMW X3 with HK. Still have the B&O Unleashed in the F150 and have compared side by side.
The Rivian (to my ears) stacks up to all of them easily, and I would say it’s the best that I've owned.
An audiophile friend was blown away listening to some jazz and...
I'm at around 1.5% per day based on a trip last week when all airport chargers were full.
Left Wed at 3pm unplugged at 115miles range - 34degree ambient
Back Mon at 1am with 98 miles range - 31 degree ambient
16 miles in 105h = 3.41 miles per day.
Here is a variable I can't control: the initial...
Anyone have videos of Rivian doing a roller test? Or the controlled slope ice tests? I'm surprised we have not seen any yet. TFL and many others have some on other AWD systems.
R.I.P: "A traditional four-wheel drive with fully locked diffs turns all four wheels at exactly the same speed. One wheel can never, and this is the point that is so very important NEVER slip. Any slip can mean falling off a rock and impaling your truck. Any slip starts to create holes that you...
Great discussion..
i have to say I think R.I.P. is being naive to suggest that electronics cannot overcome this problem. Ever. Full stop.
And if I had to guess and put words in his mouth, I think White Shadow's beef is with that initial dogmatic statement that a full 3X locking diff will always...
It certainly is representative of my Tesla MY (loss 2-3% /day) until about 2 months before trade in. (Then vampire drain appears to have "stopped". My unfounded speculation at the time was that vampire drain was becoming a talking point on forums, and they figured out how to "fix it". But...
While not ready for primetime, any of these will be a game changer:

I'd actually like some clarification on this.
So my understanding from my Tesla is that the battery percentage is the measured percentage of usable kWh remaining. Temperature does not change that.
What DOES change is the range (drops when cold, increased when warm).
I've never seen my Tesla...
Ironic you would name Subaru here...a company literally being sued for vampire battery drain.
Unnecessary needling aside, I have very little drain. Generally (if I don't plug in) my morning battery is within 1 percent of where I left it the night before, even when I preheat for a couple of...
