Nice. Great to see these efficiency improvements happening so regularly. When I'm ready to replace my Gen1 R1S this whole system will be reduced to 2 wires and a bunch of Bluetooth interconnects.
A huge part of the challenge with Rivian service is their chat interface that they use to schedule issues. As soon as there is more than one issue, they have significant issues getting everything on a service ticket.
I've experienced this twice now and both times the tech has said "it wasn't on...
Did the job solo, took about 1:30, mostly because of trying to deal with that single clip that is removed before seating the horn. That one is all sorts of problematic to remove and it looks like a wire so I was really worried about removing it. A better closeup of some of these would be nice...
I finally have one on order. Hopefully it doesn't take long to arrive so that I can get it installed this weekend. Looking forward to having an actual horn again :D Rivian should just source the parts for the horns from you guys going forward.
Was involved in an accident. Vehicle lost power and the main battery died and the 12V died while they were taking care of us. No power, no access to the center console where things like insurance docs were located.
If the are going to do this, it needs to move to an open state when the vehicle...
I don't think it's specifically the horn. They are cutting wiring from all the designs. That seems to be the actual cost center from what they have been mentioning lately.
I honestly need something that does this. Never really been an issue because of the range, but there have been days that I forget to charge it and then have to come home and charge during "expensive time"
I've been listening to the Rivian and from time to time I can hear the 'tick tock' that I have been able to firmly associate with the air suspension doing its thing, but while sitting behind a vehicle with my lights on - I noticed that the air suspension will sometimes adjust on its own for...
They replaced the steering wheel which has had some affect, but it's still there. I need to go through and make sure that they performed a balance as well.
I picked up yesterday and I have the "80mph shake". If I slow down it seems to go away. Definitely a weird one for me and it's going to the SC on Wednesday.
While this is true (https://www.mapbox.com/navigation-sdk), MapBox tends to be more reliable (and feature rich) than what we've typically seen from some of the routing issues that people are posting.
I had always wondered why many of the new vehicles have this obsession with massive glass roofs. You get into the southern states and you'll be sizzling like fajita meat for no discernible reason.
While I understand the economic reasons for not wanting to directly support Google Maps - to build one from scratch is just dumb. Building an entire car OS at the start is just dumb (Android Automotive could have been bridged to bring over a ton of the more useful Android apps... like Google...
I live in GA, I'm a stock holder, and I'm picking up my vehicle shortly. If the AC is going to be an issue - that's definitely the first complaint I'll be making. Planet not getting any colder or less sunny, so we need an SUV-sized compressor :)
