Rear diff pinion gear sheared a few teeth, but he wanted to re-gear anyway, so new pinion and 4.88 gears out back. You gotta do the front now too, so he's putting in a front locker and matching gearing. All in all, it's gonna be like $2500 or so, but now he gets 3-way lockers!

There's also the possibility it's from my hitch skid dragging, but again we would then probably see it on trucks that tow a lot with heavy trailers. A a total mystery!

Had that thought as well... But none of my bumpers were scuffed before Rubicon so kinda crossed that one off the list. The only other variable were the DCE sliders bolted to the frame, but that makes less sense. Mystery wrinkles: part of the aging process.

So my read here is that 2022 model R1T inner tie rods are weaker than necessary and they updated it in late 2023 to thicker as a result, to beef up strength. Seem correct? I'm going to attempt the Rubicon in my R1T this October so I'll order a set of spares, but I have the sleeves also.

doubling down... would prefer a thicker bead protector and valve stem protector than fake beadlock look any day. also...whats the offset?
