I'm okay with the possibility that things may change. What I would not be happy with is eliminating features, increasing costs, and withholding information for reasons that no one can understand.
For example if Ford changes some colors or moves around some USB ports by the time production comes...
The more Rivian slow roles their information release the more deflated I get. The fact that we're just getting a look at the interior in the 3rd week of the month that deliveries were expected just frustrates the hell out of me.
I already know what the UI and interior of the F150 lightning...
I've seen a more recent video that breaks it down but I can't find it right now. Here's an article that talks briefly about it. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2022-ford-f-150-lightning-battery-tech-cobalt/
It's basically a low cobalt, pouch style battery by SK innovations. Ford has said...
Rivian hasn't disclosed their battery size either.
Also many fleets and municipalities won't qualify for the tax credit as they often don't have federal income tax to offset... they have a corporate tax..
I saw an interview with the Ford head of EVs and he said it was actually 150+ and that they just listed 150kw for that document, but it isn't its max rate of charge.
In a perfect world I could take delivery in March of 2022. But I'd bet they will make me relinquish my LE and get an adventure trim for that delivery timeline.
Tbh a 3 month delay would be great for me. Im in the middle of leveraging a lot of capital to build a home, prior to selling the one im at now. A 3 month delay plus where I'm at in the pre-order list would give me a perfect amount of time to finish the build, move, sell and have my finances...
If rivian doesn't offer a similar V2H or V2G feature I think I may jump ship. 2.9 0-60 sounds nice, but is more likely to get me in trouble, whereas the ability to power my home would only get me out of trouble..
Jokes aside I did reserve a F150. Its kind of a wash right now for me between these choices. The pros to the Rivian are the somewhat increased performance, 4 motors and independent air suspension. But the improved trunk, established network, V2H technology are all very attractive features...

I can accept losing size in the bed, I just hope the interior feels like a full size truck. I can always use a trailer to increase hauling capacity, but no such quick fix for desiring a roomy interior.
Or if Tesla didn't have the network EVs would have never taken off and they wouldn't have the ppl to raise a sh*tstorm and tesla wouldn't have been able to pave the road for other EV upstarts or competition from legacy manufacturers
Haha good catch. I usually keep my eyes out for those. This has been a sore spot for me. Perhaps once I understand the system more I'll feel better about it. The inconsistency at which we see the door handles is the problem. If i don't understand it my mind starts to classify it as...
I'd imagine some early adopters of the launch edition may experience some issues that they would like resolved prior to 2022 haha. However, id agree that for the most part, most early adopters, won't require servicing their rivian until after 2022.
RJ was on a podcast a while back, and he...
Glad they're finally keeping up a cadence of information releases, and the teasers about what and when the next info drop is the communication strategy I've been hoping for this whole time.
