Mid 80k is with no mileage (auctions). At 13k miles I’d take that 79k wholesale value to be honest. Or find a dealer with a T and trade it. New S are 96k on the lower end. IMO if you can afford 84k on a 13k miles used suv you can also pay 12k more for brand new. Just my opinion however. Good...
Tough to reference the auction sites because they tack on either 4.5% or 5% buyers premium depending on the site. So in theory an $85k car is costing the buyer another $4k ish so it's near $90k before taxes, shipping, etc.
But I'm looking forward to these dropping into the 70k to 75k range. I'm...
I received my email this week. I built out my ideal spec, then saw the summary. I haven't really paid much attention to prices since I reserved in June... unfortunately... because when I reached the summary my jaw dropped. And since making the reservation last June we've decided to do a home...
Very interesting! Early June 2022 NJ reservation here too. I also switched from the S to the T. This would be sweet! Glad I didn't buy the used T 2 weeks ago!
It happened relatively quickly in Germany and Australia. I don't know what their uptake was in terms of switching from ICE to EV but they're back to burning coal.
They're not orders of magnitude cleaner - that's a misnomer. At least not for everyone.
That's a scary goal without first updating the power source & transmission/distribution grid. I think having it as an option is good, but certainly not an all out goal. EVs are really not saving the planet, but they're a nice option to have if it works for the individual. Something certainly has...
Agreed. Has Rivian provided any guidance on the matter?
I reserved June 2022 so it's a pipe dream if I take delivery in 2023. I guess it's a waiting game, but I don't know if it still want to wait.
So if I understand correctly, those of us who signed that binding agreement with Riv last year but have not yet taken delivery won't be able to take advantage of the older tax credit rules? The new 2023+ tax credit rules also won't help because the R1S and R1T will cost north of $80k.
So was...
I'm June 2022.....soooo..... 2025 delivery? It's painful. I might just get into a fume spewing twin turbo V8 rig before I go BEV. I've got the time apparently.
Thank you both!! And congratulations on the new rigs!!
I'd love to check out the R1S. I drove a T a few weeks back and loved it! As you mentioned it's tough given the time of year. I was going to contact the Rivian center in Brooklyn to see if I can set something up there but if it doesn't work...
I met up with Derek yesterday to check out his limestone R1T. He provided great insight into capabilities, driving experience, and other thoughts. The information was invaluable! The back seat has more room than what I thought too. Loved it!
Now would like to check out the R1S.
As for the...
Curious how you got a test drive. I reserved an R1S in May/June 2022 but haven't heard anything. I'm very interested in checking these out.
I'll be out on Long Island for Thanksgiving and the day after. If anyone sets up a meet I'll join, but Rivian-less...
We have a diesel SUV now for long haul trips, but the shorter (sub 200 mile trips) as well as daily commuting would be the major use case for the Rivian. Im also a weekend warrior with home DIY projects, wood splitting, etc. and having a truck would be beneficial. But from a family perspective...
I reached out to Rivian CS to inquire about the possibility of physically viewing an R1T and R1S in an effort to determine which one will work for our family. Unfortunately they don't have that in place or even in the works.....which leads to my post here.
I placed a reservation on an R1S in...
