Has anyone from Canada asked Rivian for a test drive in Buffalo while we wait for the Ontario Service Centre to open? Just want to confirm the wait is worth it.

I asked Customer Service yesterday when I could expect to get a test drive in Ontario. The person said it was contingent on the Service Centre being open first and that will happen end of the year or early 2024. They certainly are in no rush opening the Service Centre.

I assume test drives are delayed until the Ontario service centre opens, but curious if Rivian is providing test drives to anyone?

So many questions and potential concerns about the mobile fleet. Will they have the ability to provide prompt responsive service or is it a case of booking weeks away? Will they leave a loaner for the customer to use if the vehicle can’t be fixed? Will the loaner be a Rivian or some crappy rental?

I know I am getting ahead of myself, but has there been any chatter as to whether there might eventually be a second service centre in Ontario closer to us folks in the West end?

I asked when a demo drive might be available and was informed that it is dependent on the service centre being open. And of course, they will not provide an estimate when the service centre will be open.

I contacted Customer Service to try and get better idea of a target delivery date and the best they could do was to say sometime in 2024. I haven’t even been asked for my configuration(reservation Oct 22), so I guess they are being vague because I am so far behind in the cue.

So I assume no test drives until the service centre is up and running? I live in Oakville and have an October 22 reservation, but configuration not requested as yet. Like to drive a RS1 to confirm I want to wait until the middle of next year for delivery.

Oh I agree those of you that have been waiting that long have way more patience than I would - kudos to you all for your determination.

I put my deposit down in October of last year and have not been requested for my configuration yet. Given what delivery window estimate you just received my vehicle would be post June ‘24. Very disappointing.

It is an ok trip during non peak hours but during the winter no thanks.

Not a great location for many of us, but at least good news that there is progress providing a service centre. Does Rivian normally offer valet service in addition to mobile?
