To each his/her own. Texting from car is handy for a quick reply and not have to touch phone. Ford or Carplay in the Mach-E does it well, I can reply to an incoming text, sometimes something really simple as "I'm on my way to ..." following a request from spouse to confirm who's picking up...

Who has their UI display in night mode all the time? If so, how's the visibility on sunny days ? More reflection or no? And works with sunglasses ? In my current vehicle (Mustang Mach-E), I leave it in night mode and it works fine and am wondering what's the Rivian's night mode during the day...

Has anyone owned both the Mach-e and R1S and can comment on the two? How was the transition? Any features from Mach-e that you miss? (other than Carplay/AA of course) and how is the text to voice in the R1S?

R1S or R1T? That's reassuring. I'm also in Victoria, my R1S is still Oct-Dec 2023 and I ordered in October 2021.

My R1S date was 2024 but now moved up to Oct-Dec 2023 so faster is good news if it's true. In BC on Vancouver Island so not sure if distance from service centre and ferries is a factor or not. Ordered October 2021

More time = more time to iron out bugs and issues as well. Maybe better to be R1S number 25,000 than number 1000 ? As for alternatives, it sounds like most manufacturers will have a small supply pipeline except for Tesla who are years ahead of everyone else. Ford is has supply constraints...

My October 2021 BC order for R1S is a 2024 delivery date. So maybe a few token deliveries in 2023 but most in 2024 from sounds of it. The R1T has evidently higher production figures so maybe they will be 2023 and R1S 2024?

In BC with a R1S order in October 2021 in LA Silver - 2024 delivery date. Not very encouraging. I'm less than 100km from Vancouver service center. Will keep driving my Mach-E and keep my older ICE SUV.
