Just placed an order from the demo inventory for a R1T with 100 mile, which listed as "new" and not "demo". This will be my 2nd R1T.
Maybe this is too early for anyone to answer (since this demo sale program is new), but what if the vehicle condition is not up to our standard for whatever...
I have noticed that some demo vehicles appeared to have some minor body damages as I was browsing the inventory. The descriptions don't appear to list with any detail regarding the vehicle conditions but rather in a generic way (normal wear and tear).
for example, this vehicle has damages to...
I have noticed that standard size battery ain't on the list for EV tax credit, even though Rivian website lists the standard battery vehicle with potential $3750 on payment estimator page.

I am now leaning towards to lease a base model DM R1T, even though never did I ever lease a vehicle, but the monthly payment on a two year lease with minimum down payment seems like a good deal, unless there are something I am just not aware of.
I am with you 100%. My 1st R1T was a quad and it was purchased at the pre hike price. It will cost me at least $25K more if I want to buy the same vehicle today with exact same specification.
You brought a very good point which I never considered before, the battery and the drivetrain...
When you placing your order for the 2nd Rivian, did they offer any incentive (e.g loyalty owner or Rivian employee referral discount). I may have read it somewhere on this forum as someone mentioned before, but when I try calling the 1-888-rivian1 and was told no and no, maybe YMMV.
The interior quality in our last R1T was definitely more superior comparing to our Tesla model 3 and Y, and I would rate the interior quality at the same level as our 2019 bmw 7 series which I really liked.
BTW, do Rivian still sending our mystery gifts after taking delivery? I had a picnic...
Had a Launch Edition Green/Green quad motor R1T a big while ago, truly enjoyed the truck but had to get rid of it mainly due to our limited garage space and some strict HOA rules on street parking. Now we're having a much bigger house with ample garage space, I am start to think about getting...
I was hoping that Rivian still offers free home charger and installation if ones decide to purchase from the shop inventory, but after chatting with the customer service, I was confirmed that this promotion was no longer available. I was thinking about buying a 2nd r1 DM variant for the family.
I saw one of those a few months ago, while sitting in traffic in my r1t, and the only thing I remember from seeing was that thing was huge (in a good way). Never thought I would ever consider owning one before, mainly due to the price (markup especially), but now if the price is somewhat...
Not reporting to the insurance / Carfax annotation is one thing, but any experienced technician would easily spot the reconstructed areas and thus, diminish the values the vehicle when time comes for a trade.
Do what you believe is necessary because you are the one who's experiencing this.
I have been thinking about replacing the Tesla with the new Lexus upcoming GX, LX or eve the upcoming Toyota Land Cruiser (*cough Prado), since we recently replaced our r1t with a new RX, due to the craftsmanship and overall buying and servicing experience.
OP, by chance was your loaner vehicle a white / beige MB GLE from the Enterprise across the street from the SNA? :)
I actually understood your fraustration 100% since I personally experienced something similar, if not exact issues with mine. Long story short, we no longer support the company...
