  1. Matrix Headlights Alignment

Glad to see that I’m not the only one but also little disappointed that it is what it is. I’m actually ok with that as long as it really is what it is. Too bad the Rivian service manual isn’t available publicly.
  2. Matrix Headlights Alignment

I measured distances from the garage to both headlights and used the front and back fenders to visually align fender to fender to garage on both sides to specific equal lateral points on the garage. Not perfect and not perfectly leveled but close enough. The only reason why I took this photo...
  3. Matrix Headlights Alignment

I have higher standards. When you spend $100k on a vehicle, you should expect better explanations. We should all expect more from Rivian because if they continue to have build quality issues, or fail to explain their product technology, this won't end well for them and ultimately us as...
  4. Matrix Headlights Alignment

Nice witty comment. I haven’t heard that one before. You spend all your time looking through random Rivian threads just to post that? I’ve owned 4 trucks, including the Gen 1 and this is the first where the left headlight is pointed inwards. Both headlights on the Gen 1 are pointed straight...
  5. Matrix Headlights Alignment

The left side being lower to not blind opposing traffic is normal but if it’s lower then there shouldn’t be an issue with the LEDs illuminating in that direction. What about the inward offset of the left headlight? Why would that be necessary if the left headlight is already lower. I don’t...
  6. Matrix Headlights Alignment

The technology around the matrix headlights is pretty amazing but the alignment of the LED headlights seems to be off. The headlights have a distinct set of LEDs that illuminate in the direction you’re steering but they don’t seem to illuminate equally to the left or right. When you turn left...
  7. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

My service appt is scheduled for Nov 11 but I’m fairly certain at this point that the noise from the tires is not related. The noise from the suspension is metal on metal. The tire noise starts exactly at 53mph but it seems to taper off at higher speeds. Not sure if it’s because of overall...
  8. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

I expect the Wranglers performance to be comparable to the Pirellis, not great, decent at best if you drive cautiously. Season is ideal right now. Low 60s overnight, low 80s during the day. Battery temp is around 75-80 degrees usually and my tires are at 50psi cold. Mixed driving conditions...
  9. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

My range/efficiency is actually lower now than the AT Pirellis after the initial 1,000 miles. I think someone else also said their efficiency numbers were lower after the break-in period. What's strange is that the efficiency was higher during the initial 1,000 miles. I'm getting 2.17m/kwh on...
  10. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

My efficiency after 1,000 miles. It’s been fluctuating higher and lower than the Pirellis. I expect they will be comparable otherwise Rivian would not stock them. Still have noise starting at 53mph. Doesn’t sound as bad as before but could be I’m just getting used to it. There’s no magic...
  11. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

I have the Quad motor. All Purpose mode and mix of city and hwy. This is approximately mile 500-700 on the new Wranglers. With the 3% adjustment, they’re pretty much the same as my Pirellis and as you can tell, I don’t drive aggressively. I still have noise above 50mph but have a service...
  12. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

No vibrations, only the low hum above 50mph. My efficiency numbers have improved. I’m at 2.34m/kwh. I mentioned this before in my initial post, I do have noise coming from the suspension and have a service appointment for repairs. I don’t think it’s related but can’t rule it out.
  13. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

They have a satisfaction guarantee. They're a great shop and customer service is top notch. I am considering going back and swapping them for the original Pirellis. At least I know what to expect. My concern is this noise is going to get louder as the tread wears down. I'm waiting for @B...
  14. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

I tested the noise with psi at 47 and 50 today. Only noticeable difference was maybe slightly more noise at 70+mph. The more I drive, the more I'm focused on it and the more annoying it gets.
  15. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

Maybe the noise will improve after 1k miles as well? @shap @BrianB @emlo Do any of you guys hear or feel the hum above 50mph?
  16. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

I got rid of the Pirellis at 23.5k miles. To be honest, it probably started around 15k but started to get really annoying around 20k. I was really pushing my sanity at 23.5k. If the Wranglers have this annoying hum now, then yes, in 12 months I would surmise that they would be even noisier...
  17. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

The road noise is a low hum. If you've ever had a truck with all terrain tires, you'll know what I mean. The more aggressive the tread pattern and sidewall, the louder the hum. I've had the Wranglers for 250 miles now and the hum is not loud, but it is there. The fact that they're pretty...
  18. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

Yes, appreciate it, thank you! I’m going to try a lower psi and higher psi to see if there is a difference.
  19. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

Ride height is standard and in All Purpose mode. The hum starts at around 50mph and is pretty consistent up to 80mph. At 80mph the hum starts to compete with the wind noise but you can still discern the two. To clarify, this is not a loud hum like KO2s or MTs make. It is a low hum but...
  20. 20" Inch New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when?

Each wheel/tire is dynamically balanced. There is no vibration at any speed. This is a hum noise similar to what you get with very aggressive all terrain tires like KO2s or mud tires. I’ve owned ICE trucks before with various AT wheels/tires and also own a Jeep with Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs...
