The R2 will be nicer than the Mach E but not as nice as the R1. I don’t consider the R1 luxury though, more of a premium level. My interior shows almost no wear after almost 3.5 years though, so that’s nice.
Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on purchasing a 3rd party extended warranty? Sounds like you really liked the Rivian and that may have been a viable alternative. Mine is over 3 years old and I’m planning on purchasing an extended warranty in a few years since I can’t find an EV...
Having ~320 miles of range gets rid of the daily range issues in the winter. My prior EV’s only has about 200 in ideal conditions and winter range anxiety and issues really sucked.
I’ve always had that issue on my Gen 1 when I start the climate controls from the app. However, if I turn on defrost instead of just the typical climate controls, it’ll re-open my vents and go back to my prior settings when I manually turn off defrost inside the car. Sometimes that still...
There’s a way to contribute to a thread but coming in with basically a rambling 2:00 AM drunk text on an unrelated matter is not one of them.
The follow up message still has minimal information. It seems odd that all of this seems to have concluded with you not buying a Rivian quite some time...
I’ve heard the compliance car argument on some cars before, but I don’t think Toyota needed one in any of the markets it was selling in. Admittedly, I didn’t do a ton of digging on it though.
The bz4x was a disaster that I can hardly believe Toyota would deliberately tarnish its name with. I normally wouldn’t say this about Toyota but yeah, I’m taking the “show me” approach to any Toyota EV right now.
I got everything I expected from my Gen 1 and am extremely happy that I’m still getting useful updates 3 years later. Gen 1 owners are not neglected at all. Kind of a crazy position to take IMO. Rivian isn’t perfect and I have a complaint or two, as I’m sure everyone does about every vehicle...
I like to switch out every few years too, but I don’t think there’s a better daily out there (at a reasonable price, that is - I’d swap it for a Cayenne Turbo or maybe a Taycan Turbo…). Makes the idea of a 2nd vehicle a lot more appealing when you know that the Rivian will still be close to the...
I plan on keeping mine 10-15 years. I’m also planning on paying about 5-6k for a lengthy extended warranty.
With this thing as my daily, I can justify a highly depreciated fun sports car in a few more years.
