Also did it! I accepted delivery of my R1T yesterday expecting the cover to be locked open but was pleasantly surprised when it was working and unlocked. I signed the form noting that it might break and if so they’ll fix it etc. works so far - I plan to use it sparingly and keep it well lubed!

Another option might be slats of 1/2" thick manufactured wood flooring - already has the interlocking slats - just have to link them together when you slide them in...
