For anyone wanting a more accurate comparison of Tesla vs Rivian over the first few years this was pretty thoroughly done (from Reddit Rivian sub originally). There may be an update but it looks pretty on par given the last results, if not a little pessimistic.
Detailed data here
Thank you all for this, I thought I was going crazy that my seat basically became a Roman/psych lounger randomly one day after getting out (didn't seem to be related to any recent updates so I'm assuming someone in the family started messing with settings not realizing what they did).
This was my first thought, plenty of time behind a manual growing up and I rarely touched the brake pedal and you can REALLY slow down a manual by dropping gears without so much as a warning.
I do have to say the fact that brakes are built into the accelerator does make it feel like you're...
Buddy down there literally today - he paid $8 to park in an RV park and charge with a Nema 14-50 for an entire day while they were out/about. The Rivian charger there is not connected*(?yet) so many people look like their bashing it on the app but I don't think it was wired yet.
They are not OEM - finally got the truck back - OEM feel like aluminum/metal coated? Abstract Ocean are just thick plastic(molded but not that heavy) - sadly looks like a few of my letters were pretty bent and aren't staying on so I'm currently working on getting refund/replacement. The adhesive...
R1T Greensboro checking in here - I work with a guy who just got his R1S and there's at least another R1T in the area that I know of. Would be fun to have a meet up!
I feel like its absolutely ridiculous that the initial store page lists "Made with quality materials, the AgriCover LoMax is built to last" without a single mention of what its made out of. Plastic, aluminum, graphite, glass? Thanks for posting this graphic that's actually useful!
I got the satin black with yellow highlights (=R1T tailgate logo will still have the yellow bar instead of the other option which is all black).
They feel like really good quality/weight and have a bit of a taper to them like the originals. I can only compare them visually since I don't know...
FWIW I'm being told on the phone that Rivian partners with Discount Tire (and others but I didn't catch the names because they aren't in my area) for alignment so double check that info just in case it saves you some time. I'm currently a few hours in two different directions from a service...
PSA warning - was putting my groceries away in my frunk today and a police officer came over to 'assess the situation' because they saw me putting milk into my 'hood' and thought I was drunk/high and about to drive impaired!
I've called them twice for chargers when they were down (I just moved over one but called anyway to let them know) this was >1 year ago but it seems like they were genuinely surprised at the call like they didn't know the stall was down. One time they were able to reboot and it was back online...
I've moved before as soon as I crossed the charge % I needed and should be seen as the rule not the exception. I've been blocked from chargers half a dozen times by ICE but never by an EV that didn't also need it. I feel like most EV owners I've ever run in to are infinitely more considerate...
My local place price matched and didn't charge me shipping which saved me shipping/hassle but it did take nearly 5 days (ordered Sat arrived Thur). I would imagine spending a few hundred would qualify for free shipping but I didn't actually have to pull the trigger on mine.
I'm lucky I had a...
Honestly coming from the Polestar 2 I thought their key was boxy, hideous and less than useful (essentially the Volvo default).....BUT at least it comes with a little water/crush/drop proof "activity key" that is all I ever carried. The size of a USB.
So be careful about weight limits, i know i'm probably splitting hairs but these are the 115 and the stock wheels are 116 (check this site out - weight capacity nearly 100lbs different based on that #). Also these are an additional $50 more expensive for some reason than tire rack, I'm hoping...
for what its worth $800 for tire and wheel isn't a bad deal - the local tire shop just quoted me $600 flat for a tire replacement (hit a nail and went through the sidewall) - Rivian site links to pirelli who sent me to...
