According to my app, my Rivian wall charger is only pulling 12A which I expected to pull a lot more. Showing 5mi/hr charge in truck/app. Thoughts?

Setup:
- 6AWG run ~ 15-20 ft from main breaker
- 60A breaker
- Default 48A (max) switch setting inside charger box; hardwired
- not much at all running in the house, 200A service
- R1S battery at 23% SOC (after decent driving w AC on)

You don't have it turned down inside the vehicle correct?

Call Rivian and tell them what is going on and ask them to reset it.

Check the DIP switches inside the box. That said, I just posted a similar thread a week ago. My box had been installed with a 50A breaker because that was all our electrician had on his truck. When he came back with the correct 60A breaker, we had to open a ticket with Rivian to have them update the EVSE to the correct output.

TL;DR. Check DIP switches. Open ticket.

Per above recommendations, ask Rivian to reset your charger to max your rate. I had to do the same with our ChargePoint unit.

If the device was powered on before the DIP switch settings were changed, it retains whatever that rate was as a maximum until Rivian resets it remotely. Since it ships at 12A that's what happens.

Texted my guide and they re-booted the charger and now showing 48A. I don’t understand why this has to be manual and doesn’t just checked the switches on boot up.

Very helpful post. I called ChargePoint to update after I upgraded my breaker from 50 to 60 amp. All good now after their update and turning off the breaker for a minute.

Just FYI....this happened to me after vacationing and using the provided charger on 120 volt circuit, and amps turned down to 12 amps inside the R1T. When I returned home, expected to charge at 48 amps as usual on my Rivian Charger, but it was stuck on the 12 amps, and didn't discover until it had only charged at 2 mph for 2 days. Changed it back to 48 amps in the truck and all was back to normal. Unfortunate that the software doesn't recognize being home automatically and charge at the maximum rated amps. One must reset it, at least in my case.
