After multiple calls from Rivian support over the past 12 hours, they have no freaking clue what is going on, and my charge limit resets itself to 70% no matter what I do.

This is the first issue I've had with my truck and it's scary how inept customer service has been so far.

I'm also a little pissed that the "holiday" update is screwing up my ability to travel over the holidays. Any ideas from the crowd to get my charge limit past 70%?

Might be a work around, did you try changing the limit while charging? I do this sometimes if I’m DCFC charging and might not get back to the vehicle before the charge is done. Yours might stay at the higher limit during that session.

FWIW, after it first failed to stick, I set mine to 100% while I was plugged in and it started immediately. It has stayed there so far.

I have the same problem as the OP after updating to .47.

I usually charge to 70% at home overnight. I needed a little extra range on Sunday so set it to 85% in the truck and verified it on the app. In the morning it was at 70%. The next night the same thing happened, only charged to 70% even though the truck and app both indicated a charge limit of 85%.

Last night I turned off daily charge and then back on with a charge limit of 85%. This morning the truck was at 81%, which is probably right for 6 hours af L2 charging starting at 33%.

I tried this, and so far it's been successful as a workaround solution and my charge limit is now at 100%.

Also, Rivian CS called me back today and it sounds like an OTA fix for the problem is in the works.

R1T Gen 1 here. After last update, I moved the charge limit (onboard) from 80% to 70% and saved it.

I then (immediately) went into the app and saw that it was still set to 80% in the app, so I moved that too and saved it.

Drove it around and plugged back in with about 64% and it recharged to 70% as expected.

TAKEAWAY ... change charge limit in BOTH the vehicle and the APP after this update!!

Happened to me this past Sunday. Was leaving on a trip and tried setting it to 100% and was glad I accidentally looked because it didn't take and stayed at my default 70% for some reason. Tried again and it took and charged as expected.

Ironically enough, I went on the forum today to look for this exact issue as I experienced it this morning. Got back from a long road trip and our last DC charge had me set the limit to 50%. When we arrived home with 20%, I plugged the truck in and set the charge back to 70%. To my surprize, this morning, it was only charged back up to 50%.

I do have a schedule set and it started per the time schedule. However, the charge limit did not change per the setting change I made on the UI in the truck. I was able to remotely change the limit on my app this morning though.

Darn it, this happened to me last night too. I have a daily charge limit set to 70% but in anticipation of a road trip, I set it to 100% via the app last night. When I woke up this morning it was only at 70%. I never set the limit in the truck, only via the app, and am on a set charging schedule in the vehicle from 9pm-6am.

I experience this today as well. The mobile app does not hold the set charge limit. I set it twice to find that it was sent back to what it was previously. I have not tried from the vehicle yet but will set it now from the mobile app again and manually start charging to see what happens. By the way I just upgraded my iPhone to a 16 Pro Max today. I don’t recall experiencing this on my 13 Pro.

Has anyone else noticed that the charge percentage blinks off and on for a few seconds after changing the percentage in the app. It appears that the app is waking the truck to make the change. If you don't wait for it to stop flashing the change does not stick

This literally just happened to me on my trip after Christmas. I thought it was me until I saw this thread.

Ironically, I can't seem to set my truck to go to 100% in the app either - 99% is it. Probably not related, but you know...

Honestly each update is getting worse and worse with features not sticking or taken away. I'm so over this. No more updates for me after they patch this. If they ever manage to decrease vampire drain I'll consider that but definitely don't need a Christmas update or YouTube. I just want a reliable vehicle and this ain't it.

Everything worked as expected for last nights charging session.

I think this has been mentioned but the mobile app and widget readings often do not match the in vehicle readings. My app/mobile says it’s 80% and the vehicle says 81%. They almost never match.

Have experienced the same problem since the last update while I was using the app inside the car. In the AM found it had reverted back to prior setting (100%) from trip. Will now be triple checking and not using app while inside car. I suspect one system overriding the other, maybe. Got it to reset without an issue when using app away from vehicle.
