Great find! It should still work well in an enclosure? Lowest frequency response is not as low as the MMAT but enough for most types of music. Probably better material than factory. And it needs less power (125 RMS). Now we just need to find out factory sub's mounting depth and impedance.

There is someone who did a 6x9 swap a couple of years ago with an amp.
My recollection is they did do some cutting inside the box.

Interesting. Rockville must be closing out that sub down to $60 now, originally $210. Lowest frequency response is higher than the other two, at 50 Hz. Mounting depth is longer at 4.75" and he got it to fit with some modifications to the enclosure, so that answers one question. Two things I would have done different: deadening mat on any available flat exterior of the enclosure + some poly fill inside the box. Poly fill "tricks" sub into behaving like it's inside a bigger enclosure. It's what car audio guys do when space is limited.

I would bet mid-bass speaker with software defined crossover.

I bet not too many people were willing to buy a sub that bottomed out at 50hz. So the 60$ sale price doesn’t seem too far fetched.
