I would like to purchase an all-terrain tire option for my OEM 21 inch wheels. The Pirellis work great on the road but our Idaho club recently went off roading together and my road tires had more trouble in the mud bath holes. I wrote to Rivian and received this reply:

Hi Brian,

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch with us at Rivian Customer Engagement Center.

We can only recommend Pirelli tires, specifically designed for Rivian vehicles. I also wanted to remind you that Pirelli tires include the Tire Limited Warranty - coverage for up to 12 Months / 50,000 Miles and it refers to wheel alignment, balancing, and tire rotation. The tires that come as original equipment on your new Rivian are warranted by their manufacturer. To obtain warranty service for your original equipment Rivian tires, you may contact the original Tire Manufacturer - Pirelli Tire LLC.

If you want to learn more about the warranty, you can refer to the New Vehicle Limited Warranty Guide and Pirelli Tire Warranty.

I hope this helped, but feel free to reach out if there’s anything else I can do to assist! If you prefer live support, you can also contact us via chat or give us a call at 888-RIVIAN-1, we’re available Mon.-Fri. from 7am-8pm CDT and Sat.-Sun. from 7:30am-5:30pm CDT.

Have a great rest of the week.

Your fellow adventurer,
Mxxxxxx

Personal opinion. Ditch the 21s, and get a set of 20s. You have options then, if you get a flat you are much much less likely to be stranded waiting for shipping, and you can find winter tires.

As a side note, the inability to recommend a other tire, despite the warranty language supposedly requiring consent to modify your vehicle, really grinds my gears since they refuse to acknowledge the don't provide a snow tire option that doesn't (in theory) potentially void your warranty.

And yes, I know they would have to provide the tire did the damage and the Magnuson act, etc. It's just frustrating.

That sounds like a lame response that you'd bet from a Tesla lawyer. Not helpful.

I totally agree.

I had a defective tire that blew out after 15k miles. Rivian offered NO remedy, no warranty and no support from Pirelli. I would get ANYTHING else that is available!
